Summary: Great effort by Madonna!
Review: I really enjoyed the English Roses and think it's great for adults too. It has a very simple zen like technique that anyone could use in their day to day lives. If you've watched any interviews by Madonna, you can definitely tell that this is her writing based on her confident demeanor. The illustrations are excellent and they remind me of visiting london. An interesting concept to put yourself in someone elses shoes before judging them, which i believe our society is conditioned to do on a daily basis through the media. Thanks to Madonna for coming out with such a lovely life lesson.

Summary: An ADORABLE Fable
Review: This book is a very timely bedtime story of how cruely children can treat each other due to jealousy and petty differences. Who can't relate... right? The illustrations are stunning and the characters are beautifully created and developed. Judge the book, not the author... and remember that just like these girls in the book, Madonna Ritchie should be given the opportunity to change and find harmony in her life.

Summary: Kudos to Madonna
Review: Madonna has written a universal story and one that I know my 7 year old daughter will appreciate and enjoy. The illustrations are magnificent!!! Vivid, colorful pictures are coupled with a good story and fun narration. I can't wait to see the other four books.

Summary: It's what we should expect
Review: The artists' colors are very nice. I do have a problem with all the girls having skinny, skinny bodies. Not a good signal for teen and preteen girls. The messages Madonna sends are that you shouldn't judge someone until you know them (OKAY), all people are thin (NOT OKAY), and last but not least, if you invite a beautiful person into your group, you will be beautiful by association (NOT OKAY). The lonely girl might better have been physically bland or marred in some way but still thought beautiful by everyone who knew her. That would have been a lesson worth learning. ...

Summary: Enjoyable for Child and Parent
Review: The book has wonderful illustrations to captivate a child while the parent reads each page. English Roses teaches a lesson about jealousy in a simple, fun way. I look forward to the next book!

Summary: A fun book
Review: I enjoyed reading thisbook to my 5 year old niece. She loved the pictures and was talking abut Binah after we were finished. My only problem with the book seemes to be how the author tends to talk down to Children from the Narrators point of view. At one point she tells children that "If you say you have never been jealous of another, then you are lying and I am going to tell your mother".... or something to that extent. My Niece looked at me and said, Im not jealous of anyone else. If you read this book you will know what I am talking about. Other then that, it is a cute story and does teach a good message.

Summary: Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!
Review: This book is great! It really teaches little (and big girls) that you should not judge based on an exterior appearance because you may miss out on someone's inner beauty. I love it, I think it is "real life", and a great lesson for all people. Thank you Madonna!!!!!

Summary: Outsanding.....Bravo....Bueno....Leaves my son wanting more!
Review: This book is so great. It inspires not only my child but also myself. To everyone out there who is debating about this book, you must have it. To know that there are 4 more to be released leaves me wanting more. This book brings out the child in all of us, and teaches us at the same time. Go Madonna, your the BEST!
