Summary: A great book for the family and yourself
Review: This book is about a run away that left his aunt and uncle for a good reason. (but don't go running away yourself) the reason he ran away is because his aunt and uncle diagreed on everything. And they don't use the same household products as each other, for example they have two tosters in the house because they can't use the same things as each other. And this was driving maciac insane. So he ran away from home and he ran like the wind. And he ended up all the way in the east end (A African American comunity)and manic is white. And what he dones't know is the town is seperated in white and black. I can't tell you what happenes next you have to read the book.

Review: If you love books about adventure, then this is definitely the book for you! Here is a little bit about the book: When Maniac is a child, his parents die, so he goes to live with his aunt and uncle. Maniac gets frusturated with his aunt and uncle's bickering, so he takes a stand and runs away.

When Maniac goes to an African American neighborhood, he is totally oblivious to their skin color, but they are not oblivious to his. After you start reading, you will not want to put it down. It teaches you a lesson

Summary: A decidedly underrated classic
Review: I read this book when I was about 10 or 11, like many of the young people reviewing it here. I'm 17 now. The other night I found it in a box and decided to read it again - I breezed through it in a couple hours. What I noticed was that, unlike many books aimed at young adults, it had lost very little. It never seemed oversimplified, and many of its themes are as relevant and moving today as they were 7 years ago.

The novel is beautifully written, combining sharp, concise prose with a sort of folk tale mentality that is extremely alluring and captivating. The characters are well-drawn and memorable, and their evolution is interesting. And all along there is plenty of action and excitement to keep the littler ones intrigued.

Maniac Magee is truly a book that people of all ages can enjoy, and one I would recommend most highly to young adults.

Summary: Maniac Magee
Review: Maniac Magee. What words can I say about this book? It was amazing.I am an 11 year old reader. This book is about an 11 year old boy. His name is Jeffery Magee. A.K.A Maniac Magee. Jeffery's parents died when he was small. Jeffery ran & ran to a town called Two Mills after his parents died. That town was very racist. Maniac was loved by both African Americans and white people. Maniac does some amazing stunts, like hitting a frogball!
I think this book isn't just great, but it has a very deep meaning. I would recommend this book to advanced readers. I would recommend this book to advanced readers because this book is very sensitive and has a very deep message that is hard to understand.

Summary: Maniac Magee a review by Jenna
Review: Have you ever wanted to get away, far away? From when you do something really embarrassing? Well, in the novel Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli, Jeffery Lile Magee does something so unimaginable that he couldn't stand the humiliation just thinking about it, or what his Aunt and Uncle would do to him. So on that day, he made a vow to run and never stop. (And when I say run I mean literally RUN!)

Another thing that Maniac Magee did to make a public appearance was when Maniac untied Coble's Knot. Cobles Knot is an enormous knot that had been tied for years, but this isn't an ordinary knot. Because anyone and everyone who tried to untie this knot failed, so in this case he was more determined to untie this untieable knot. Also there was a prize of a life time supplies of pizza. But does he untie the knot? Find out when you read this book.

Years later, on his daily day in and day out run, he bumps into a young black girl. At once he notices the suitcase full of books, and immediately asks if he can barrow one. But the girl says flatly and hard-heartedly, "No!" But Maniac just wouldn't give up, so he begged and pleaded for just one book. Reluctantly the girl threw a book at him and ran to school. But can a friendship between black and white children survive without racism or injustice getting in the way? Is this possible? Well, find out in this novel Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli.

Summary: A Review of Maniac Magee By Greg
Review: Maniac come back! Maniac is a extraordinary teenager he says his opinion to everyone and does what he wants when he wants.

Maniac's parents died whan he was only 3 and he was left to live with his aunt and uncle who loathed each other how will he solve this problem?

Why did Maniac run? he ran 250 miles to a small town in Pennsulvania and stopped. This town was devastated by racism it was split in house white and black. He stayed the cold Pennsulvania winter in a deer shack.

Maniac can run faster than anyone in the town. He hit John McNab's frog ball to first and made a home run. He intercepted the highschool quarterback's pass and bunted across the whole feild!

Maniac is color blind in a good way he treats everyone equal and can't tell the differene between black and white.

CAN HE ELUMINATE THE RACISM?

Summary: Maniac Magee by: Sarah
Review: This spectacular, funny, but sad book will make you want to read more! This book Maniac Magee, will make you laugh and cry. It will make you be nervous but at the same time safe and secure. This book is a newberry award winner, that i would give six out of five stars. This is truely a great book. It all starts out when Maniac or Jeffery Magee was just a little boy. His mother and father both died in a train accident and was forced to live with his aunt and uncle. They did absolutly nothing together, it was like the house was split in half. They had two seperate tv's an dnothing in common. After years of living like this Maniac decided to run away to a small town in Pennsylvania that was literaly split in half from the racism. The white people were on one side of the town and the blacks on the other. One day when Maniac was walking down one of the tow streets he saw a girl that looked like she was running away. Maniac would soon find out that she was just walking to scool with her suitcase. He learns from her that in this completly racist town color does matter. Even though Maniac never judged by the color of peoples skin so he didn't know what to expect. Through this book Maniac meets and makes many friends including Amanda, Grayson, Mars or Snickers, Russel, Piper, and all the buffalo at the zoo. So if you want an adventurous, historical fiction book Maniac Magee would be a great choice.

Review: Do you want to read a book that will have you down on your knees beging for more? Well, Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli is the one. In my opinion its much better than 5 stars. It won a Newberry and should win a Coreta Scott King award.
The reason I like it is because in a few places Maniac runs on one of the steel track of the tracks. I also like it when he answers Mrs. Pickwel's dinner whistle. Opps, you need more background info. The town Maniac was in was called Two Mills. The town was split right down the middle, whites on the west side, blacks on the east. Then, Maniac, who is white, crossed the line 10 times. Some of the black kids yelled, espesially Mars Bar......Opps can't tell you any more, you have to read the book. You can get it right here in amazon.com. Remember, its Maniac Magee, its by Jerry Spinelli, and won a Newbery. Don't let me keep you waiting...(:!GET READING! :)
