Summary: An indispensable reference for learning HTML
Review: You can find more information on the internet about HTML than you can "shake a stick at", but putting that information to use in a timely fashion is another matter.

Elizabeth Castro has delivered to "would-be" HTML programmers a tool whose form truly does follow function. Her methodology not only includes a clear verbal explanation of HTML tags, their use, and their function, but the included web browser "screen captures" help the learner know if they have implemented the tags correctly on their pages. The appendices provide a plethora of additional useful information from special symbols to browser-tag compatibility. If I could have only one HTML reference book by my computer THIS WOULD BE IT!

Summary: A great book for beginners and quick reference
Review: With very limited knowledge about HTML, I was able to read through this book and successfully start up several webpages immediately.I am using this book to instruct 7th and 8th graders on webpages. Ms. Castro has found a very pleasant style for presenting the information needed to get just about anyone up and running on the web. She, also, responded immediately to my email questions when I could not figure something out. It's comforting to know that someone is out there to help. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: The best introductory Web design book currently available
Review: I've been teaching Web design at our local college for 3 years. I can't tell you how happy I am to have discovered a book that presents Web design in a clear, visual and easy to learn format that is perfect for both novice and experienced Web designers.

As of this exact second, I'll be recommending Ms. Castro's book as the standard text for both my Intro and Advanced Web classes.

Summary: Very good book on HTML 4
Review: Elizabeth Castro's HTML4 for WWW shows how a tech book can be written in such a compact yet useful form without resorting to writing 2-inch thick monsters. Highly recommended.

Summary: Excelent book for beginer as well as advanced programer
Review: I used this book for a class in HTML at Indiana University. I found the wording simple to understand and the pictures an excelent resource. I am a computer information systems major and I still use this book to refresh my memory when I am using HTML. I wouldn't buy anything else.

Summary: Examples are great!
Review: I am a college student starting a computer business, and HTML is something I'm going to need to know. I learn best by example, and when I went to the bookstore, I saw that this book had examples. So I picked it up. I haven't finished it yet, but boy are the examples helpful! I greatly recommend this book to all learners, whether by example or not.

Summary: Quite Possibly a canidate for the New Testament of HTML
Review: Elizabeth Castro is on of the world's most gifted instructors/writers of HTML...this is the second book I have purchased by her on HTML and I learned just as much the second time around as the first. Nothing about this book is long winded or too complex for the individual just starting out with HTML. I use excepts from HTML 4 as an instruction tool for classes that I myself teach. I have seen the 800 page collectives of HTML goo goo that leave anyone new to the process feeling frustrated and lost....but after completing this book not only will you be able to code your website but you will also have a strong foundation in the world of web design....this is quite simply the best HTML manual on the planet bar none. Good Job again...and thanks S. McCoy
