Rating: Summary: HTML 4 its a diffrent World... Review: I say that HTML 4 is a diffrent World because, when you start reading you enter in a Hypertext Markup Language and you can not exit without read evrything ( and of course you learn HTML 4 ).
Rating: Summary: A great reference to get up and running quickly with HTML 4 Review: This is a great reference to get up and running with HTML 4.0 quickly. I didn't need to know the why's, where's, and when's, just the how's and this book does that in an easy to follow manner. An inexpensive, concise, and easy to follow reference - just what I was looking for. I'd easily recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: A Real Quick Start Review: This book really did it for me. I was setting up my webpage on our Intranet in less than a week. Granted, this wasn't my only source of information, but this book was a the most helpful. My hat is off to the authors.
Rating: Summary: Really is a "Quick Start!" Review: When a book claims "Quick Start" I am skeptical but the claim on this one is true! Okay, I wasn't a complete newbie on Web stuff, I already knew how to put up sites in MS FrontPage, but I was still lacking in the straight HTML coding skills, wanted to go "grass roots," and this book did it for me. I was writing straight HTML for a new site within half an hour of opening the book, and then as I read more chapters, added more, and over the course of one week, had a site up. A few months ago I sat myself down in a (physical) bookstore and looked through a bunch of HTML books, none of them really seemed to be an efficient or even thorough presentation, none of them seemed worth the money. Still had me guessing the real specifics of how to manipulate tags. Then saw this one in virtual land and something made me want it, okay price was good too, and I'm glad I got it. Castro presentation is great: TELL them how and why, SHOW the code EXACTLY and in the PRECISE position in the page or line, and then show the RESULTS of that code, and then tips at the end too. I don't see any other book that does such a comprehensive and visually clear job of presenting HTML! And I am still learning from it ... a Good sign - this copy is getting dog eared already. If you need clear & efficient presentation to get started quickly, sink your money into this one.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!! :-) Review: This book is GREAT. I did need some pointers in html but i knew some of the stuff and this worked like a refrence book with a lot of pitures. It did not have many color pictures, though. You should buy this book
Rating: Summary: It's OK Review: All books on this subject fall short. At least this one has a reasonable price. After looking through this book for answers, I'm still stuck on what I need to do. ???
Rating: Summary: Easiest Computer Book I've ever Read Review: Her style is simple and extremely well laid-out. Presents the material in an easy to understand fashion. I've only read a couple of computer books and have done some web-design before this, and this book is Perfect for the beginner/intermeidate. HIGHLY Recommended.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but there is a superior HTML book out there. Review: I purchased this book after thumbing though it and it did indeed seem a whole lot better than those aimed at "dummies". A whole lot better in fact, and at $18.00 a far better bargain. HOWEVER, two days after buying this book I found Joe Burn's "HTML Goodies" book which is far better in every respect. More thought provoking, more complete and a whole lot more fun to read, with many "tricks of the trade" included. I just ordered Joe's book from Amazon.com and at less than $18.00, it's the buy of a lifetime for HTML newbies like myself.!
Rating: Summary: Whats the big deal? It isnt that great! Review: It is not that wonderful, there are plenty of other great books out there that cover much much more advanced topics. there are no pratical exercises to do, all you do is type in what she(the author) already did. That is no way to learn HTML!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best! Review: I work in a web-page development company and we use this book all the time for a quick reference or to teach us what we don't know! What a great guide...the pictures show you how to do it and the clear concise instructions make web development simple! A must have!
