Summary: Joe Burns books
Review: This guy is the best! A teacher at heart (and by profession), he presents the material in a way anyone can understand. I bought the 10 minute guide to HTML by another author and it sucked. Then i bought this book and everything became clear. From simple to complex this is the "bible"!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Must Have
Review: Don't you hate those computer books that you can't understand? Well, this isn't one. It is funny and helps you learn at the same time. Easy to use, and is as great as his web site.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The BEST Book on Web Design Available, Hands DOWN!
Review: HTML Goodies is the clearest, most concise treatment of the many issues involved in web-design I've seen! I've bought several books on the subject, and this is the most informative by far. If you have questions about the ton of new technologies emerging in web design (XML, style sheets, etc.) there's nothing better. A must have!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent Source of reference and tutorials
Review: A pretty good book for the money. There is a lot in here and a lot of good diagrams. I could have done without some of the irrevelant babble that precedes some of the chapters. Also Burns does not make it clear sometimes until the very end of a chapter what browsers each feature works with.

Summary: An online-based book
Review: I like the way this book teaches how to write HTML, but the thing I didn't like was that many things were explained online, and I found it annoying to have to go to the website so I could understand what was being said in the book. Also, I have found that many of the links written in the book no longer exist. It's very upsetting when you get all excited about learning something then find out it's not there!

Summary: Very good HTML tutorial and reference. Covers java and cgi.
Review: Joe Burns has an excellent teaching style and writes well but the book suffers from little or no editing. The politically correct writing style is very distracting and should not be used in tex books. HTML, java script, java, forms, cgi is all there with clear explanations and clarifying detail. It aslo includes many examples and frequently references his teaching website. A very good book, well worth the money!

Summary: This book is great! Joe Burns really knows how to teach HTML
Review: This book has it all! It teaches you just about everything you need to know about HTML! It also goes beyond HTML and teaches you basic javascript and DHTML!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best HTML book I've ever seen
Review: This book is a must for beginners and experienced web designers. Easy to read, easy to understand and under $20. What's not to like? If 'Honest Town' would take the time to read this book, I'm sure they'd agree

Summary: As a first book on HTML I have really enjoyed HTML Goodies.
Review: Joe Burns gives technical info in a very funny way. I have really used the book alot. I am thinking of getting his Javascript Goodies to help me in that other art of the Tri-W. This book launched me from novice to webmaster. If Javascript does half what HTML did I will write javascript in no time.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is just as good, if not better than his website.
Review: Joe Burns has really gone to the top. His webpageis just as good as the book, but in the book you can look at the infomation for however long you need to, and think about it.

He covers everything from basic HTML for beginners, to the beginnings of the stuff professionals get into. It's for all ages, all classes, all levels.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to know anything about HTML.
