Summary: WORTH EVERY PENNY
Review: This is the best book on NT 4. Not just for the Server exam. I wonder why 90% of all publishers still bother with with books that are just plain ridden with mistakes and flaws (Sybex TIP/IP for example) I wish every book was this great. Peter Barbera

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not for MCSE
Review: I have passed 4 of the MCSE core exams and studied several books including this. This is a good book to understand NT server or NT as a whole but as a preparation guide for MCSE it is a waste of time. You cannot pass a single MCSE exam with this book alone, because its not written for this purpose. Use this book if you need to understand from the very basic in simple way.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best and easiest to understand of NT Server books
Review: This book offers a clear and concise explanation of what is really needed to make NT work. The format of the book allows the user to find needed information quickly. It is an excellent blend between training manual and reference manual.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good resource for new or experienced administrators.
Review: I bought this book to prepare for a job interview and it was a huge help. His "How Do I?" section makes it easy to tackle common challenges with NT. Because it covers both NT 4.0 and 3,51, this book is excellent for mixed environments. It has been a great help in common day to day use and as a study reference in working towards my MSCE. I would recommend it as a general reference manual to be kept on any serious administrator's shelf. Can't wait for his manual for NT 5.

Summary: This is the way to mastering NT 4
Review: This book gives you the needed information, both good and bad, that you need when working with Microsoft Windows NT server version 4.

Whether you are simply working with NT or working towards your certification, this book should be in your library. Let me correct that - this book should be open on your desk! It is an invaluable resource for those working with NT

Summary: Why this NT Server book? It is written in English.
Review: I was a subcontractor setting networks up for small businesses in my area. I wanted something more stable, so I applied to a company that wanted someone with NT experience. I got the job. It is Administering 150 worstations and 6 servers. 5 times what I was accustumed to. I went to the local book store and pulled all the NT server books off the shelf, and looked up topics that I needed to address at work. This is the only book that had what I wanted to do in the index, worded the way I wanted it, and it is the only book that explains "how to". It is also the only book that is not a just a refference, but it can be read from front to back. This sets the standard for technical manuals

Summary: This book is "Master"-full.
Review: The authors have truely mastered this subject, and can help you tame Windows NT. It recently helped me avoid some of the pitfalls in setting up a new NT 4.0 Network. I have been using and programing computers since 1968 and this is the clearest, best written, and most comprehensive hands-on "users guide" I have seen. I especially like the common sense approach to preventing hardware problems before the software even is installed! I strongly recommend this book and suggest you take advantage of their excellent advice.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best NT refernece
Review: The author makes use of simple examples to explain complicated technical terms, even people with little networking knowledge will understand the concepts. Yet, the material covered in the book is also useful for networking professional

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Makes complex topics easy to understand
Review: No tower of babel here. The authors look at a complicated operating system and explain it in plain terms. Tells you what you can do, why you might want to do it and how to get it done. The only thing missing from this 1150pp monster is useless filler material so often found in other similar-sized texts
