Summary: Italian Immigrant Cooking by Elodia Rigante
Review: By far the best Italian cookbook of its kind. What makes this book even more special are the warm-hearted stories and pictures of life as an Italian-American immigrant. Like many Italians, Ms. Rigante's father equated food with love. This book has easily become a family favorite that is referred back to time and again.

Summary: Absolutely top-notch! Get your hands on a copy if you can...
Review: Forget Balduccis and other places with fancy prices and less than superb food - get this and wow your friends and family without knocking yourself out - or hurting your budget. I have already tested several of these recipes and they are superb! Full-color photos of every recipe on every page and great directions. These are the real thing, too, everyday cooking (as well as fancier, more expensive recipes if you like) for true culinary feasts, Italian style. All the pasta dishes you'd expect, plus a wealth of seafood recipes - from seafood marinara to calimari. There's even a recipe for Duck Casserole which I'd like to try soon. If you find a copy, you'll probably pay a pretty penny, but you won't regret it. Worth every penny I've paid and I'd gladly pay double the price for this one!

Summary: The Only Italian Cookbook You'll Ever Need
Review: I absolutely love this cookbook. I use at least one recipe from this book at every get together that I have. I have tried most of them and haven't been disappointed with any of them. My parents are Italian immigrants and my mother is a fantastic cook and she has loved each and every recipe that I have tried from this cookbook. The best part about it is that it is filled with easy to find ingredients and often, subsitutions or alternative suggestions are given too. The family stories that are told are very, very similar to those of my family. Sounds like my mom could have written it.

Summary: The most-used cookbook in my kitchen!
Review: I cannot put into words how much I love this cookbook! My sister-in-law and I refer to it as our "Italian cooking bible". The book contains the kinds of recipes that get passed from generation to generation, and I can't wait to share these recipes with my children. Although the book is out-of-print, if it is definitely worth the effort to get it!!

Summary: Desperately looking for a copy of this book
Review: I first saw a copy of this book at a friend's house back in April. Going through its pages made want to make every dish in it, and I have since made a few. I though I could go to the bookstore and simply pick up a copy or order it through the net. Little did I know, it has been an unsuccesfull 6 month project. I've ordered it a few times already only to be told months or weeks later that it is out of print and not available.... Can some one help me get a copy, please?....

Summary: Simple but delicious-- REAL Italian cooking!
Review: I love this cookbook. I have tried several recipes and one is better than the other. This is a reflection of what real immigrant cooking is like. My mother is a first generation Italian-American and she says this is how her family cooked! PASTA FAGIOLI to die for!
