Review: This is such a wonderful cook book I think everyone who loves to cook should go out and purchase this cook book.I love the way Patti puts pictures in the book and explains every recipe and how it relates to a certain family memeber or close friend the book is the bomb and so is she of course.I have already made the famous macaroni and cheese dish it's to die for the title of the book is really on point by saying Recipes to sing about.If you don't have it go out and buy it and make the slamming macaroni and cheese I promise you wont be dissapointed.

Review: Patti's cookbook is simply fabulous. Recipe after recipe delivers delicious results. Instructions are easy to follow, comprehensive and not overly fussy. Patti includes some home-spun comments in addition to the recipes. The book is also a big hit when given as a gift.If you love comfort food, and I love me some comfort food, Patti's the diva for you, and Patti's cookbook is the cookbook for you. Her macaroni and cheese is BEST EVER - nothing comes close, even in the great restaurants where I've tried it. Thanks, Patti, from a hungry Philly girl marooned on the west coast!

Review: Patti you have out done yourself.... this is the best cooking investment that I have ever made. The Gumbo is a treasure... the mac and cheese is to die for...and the carrot cake is the best I have ever tasted! Hats off to you Patti, for a job done well!!! A must buy!!!

Summary: just plain good ol cookin
Review: I just want those of you looking for a good cook book to know I enjoyed this book for many reasons. I have tried about 40%of the recipes and all though they might not taste as good as patti's they turn out great. They remind me of my mother and grandmothers cookin. This is my second cook book and by far the best. I am 30 years of age and love to cook and so my 4 girls love when i cook with Patti. Thank you Patti for sharing your good ol cookin w/the world and me....................

Summary: Makes you want to EAT, EAT, EAT
Review: This book is a MUST to have in your kitchen. I have tried many cookbooks, but this one is the best. Every receipe that I have tried has been easy to follow and good to eat. The macaroni & cheese, greens, smothered chicken, pecan pie, sweet potatoes, smoked turkey chowder, gumbo, apple-butterscotch pie and peach coobler have all been good. My absolute favorites are the smothered chicken and peach coobler. Eat the pecan pie while it is hot and it will make your toes wiggle. Every time I cook one of Patti's dishes, family and friends want the receipe. I did try the stove-top dressing and I did not like it. The dressing was fine, but I am a fan of cornbread dressing and the two are not the same. However, for those who prefer a really moist dressing, her receipe is okay. I have plans to try many more receipes out of the book and I know that I will be pleased. This is one book that I will not let out of my house. You won't go wrong in the kitchen with this cookbook.

Summary: Finger-licking good...
Review: I had been looking for a good cookbook with soul food recipes and I have finally found it. The baked macaroni & cheese recipe is truly "over the rainbow". My family can't get enough of the potato salad either. This is an easy to follow cookbook, with delicious recipes and wonderful stories from the Diva herself.

Summary: Very Disappointed
Review: I am a very detailed oriented person, so I followed three of her recipes very carefully. And guess what, all three of them were a complete flop. I still can't get over her recipe for cooking dressing on the stovetop. Now that was my biggest flop.
