THANKS MAPMERT@AOL.COM, SACRAMENTO,CA
Rating: Summary: GOOD DOWN HOME COOKING... Review: When I received the book, I was so excited. The cover alone was beautiful and the recepies are easy and fun. Patti is very passionate about cooking and the ingredients she adds to her special recipes proves it. Thanks Patti...
Rating: Summary: Fun to read and the recipes are easy to follow Review: I tested two of her recipes on my family and friends at my July 4th barbecue. I tried the potato salad and the carrot cake. Both were excellent and they kept coming back for more. Go Patty Go!!!
Rating: Summary: Patti Patti sure makes Patty Patty's Review: The Diva is incapable of being paralleled or outdone. Everything she sings, cooks and touches turns either platinum or mouth watering!

Rating: Summary: CHILD, I AM ON MY WAY TO THE BOOKSTORE!!! Review: After seeing Patti Labelle on Oprah, I knew that this was not only a must read, but a must have to add to my collection! Being a single black woman who only has time to focus on my career, this book will truly come in handy. I can't wait to start cooking "Labelle Cuisine". P.S. Patti, thanks for telling folks that it is okay, not to mention healthier to use turkey products instead of pork. May, 28, 1999.
Rating: Summary: Love the stories as well as the easy recipes! Review: Patti has a way of telling a story and she has a way with food that looks as if you have fussed all day. The recipes are easy and the stories entertaining. What a deal to find both in one book!
Rating: Summary: PATTI HAS FINALLY MADE A COOK OUT OF ME! Review: I have been waiting for this book, And it was well worth the wait. The Screaming Mean Greens, Over the Rainbow Macaroni and Cheese and The Wicked Peach Cobbler and Zuri's HotWings are my favorites. Cooking from this cookbook is just like going to Patti's house and sitting down to a good meal. Thank you for inviting all you 'Friends" over for a nice meal.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, recipes that bring big smiles and full stomaches Review: I bought this book after many recommendations from friends that saw Ms. Labelle on the Oprah show. I had decided to give my husband a surprise pary for his birthday, and wanted to cook all his southern favorites. Being a southern girl myself, I wanted to see how Ms. Labelle's recipes compared to my own. They were great! The over the rainbow macaroni and cheese were a great hit with all my guests, as well as the ribs with bodacious barbecue sauce. The stories were truly touching. They have inspired me to start a recipe book for my family's annual reunion. I think Ms. Labelle is one of the most honest and down to earth celebrities. Everyone should get this book.
Rating: Summary: Overall, this was a good cookbook with basic recipes Review: I thought this would be an interesting cookbook after see Ms. Labelle on "The Oprah Show" giving demonstrations of a few of the recipes in which she had given very unique names to some of them. Over-the-Rainbow Macaroni and Cheese, Wicked Peach Cobbler, Screamin' Mean Greens, Make-You-Wanna-Holler Maryland Crab Cakes were just a few of the unique names. Even though some of the dishes were secret recipes, there wasn't really anything that was very different from what I'd seen in other cookbooks. I thought Ms. Labelle kind of boasted a little to much about how great the recipes were, but I didn't find anything so spectacular about any of them. The recipe for Jackie's Fried Egg Sandwich was very basic but said that her sister didn't want anybody's egg sandwich except hers. The stories that went along with most of the recipes were interesting and overall made this a good cookbook.
