Review: When I met Patti Labelle about two years ago she said that she loved my name...well Patti I love your recipes! This book is wonderful. I received it as a Christmas present from a sorority sister. I made the mac & cheese, collard greens, and the peach cobbler and they all tasted great. The mac & cheese was the best. My family now thinks I'm a really good cook. Thanks Patti.

Review: I'm a great cook but I learned by using cookbooks. I collect cookbooks that assemble classic and easy recipes for dishes like macaroni & cheese, potato salad, greens, etc. I collect cookbooks to pass on to generations to come. Patti's cookbook is definitely in that collection.I had never made potato salad before Patti. My fiance LOVED it and he doesn't eat his MOTHER'S potato salad! Thank you Patti.

Summary: A 21-Gun Salute to Patti (The Passionate Food Freak) Labelle
Review: I've always admired Patti's music, now I can enjoy the same meals she serves to her hungry celebrity friends. I thought I could make a mean pot of greens, but I had to surrender to Patti's Screamin' Mean Greens. I've tried 5 recipes from the book and none have let me down yet. Keep on burnin' girlfriend!

Review: So far the recipes I've tried are very good. This is down home cooking for sure and mainstream enough for everyone to try. I'm from San Francisco but living in Tampa, Florida and Ms. La Belle's food spans coast-to-coast. I thought it was so good I sent it to to my friends back in California.

Review: I am an avid cookbook collector and found this book a wonderful resource for food that can actually be prepared for your family. All of the recipes are "down home" and the ingredients can probably be found in everyone's kitchen. The stories included add a friendly touch to the recipes. Definitely a keeper for anyone who cooks.
