Summary: The awesome Patti Labelle has done it again!
Review: Patti Labelle is the definition of a "star". But even more than that, I have had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Labelle, and what you see is what you get! There is no pretense. No prima donna attitude---she is just Patti. This, in addition to her awesome talent, is why I love her. Public relations would have us believe that certain celebrities are more beloved than Patti, merely because they may have more money, or say all the right things, or whatever. But there is no one like Patti Labelle. I have had the thrill of seeing her in concert. I was thrilled to have her autograph one of her record albums. Now I am the proud owner of her personally-autographed cookbook. This book is fabulous! I have never seen a cookbook where I wanted to try every recipe---but this is the one. We need more Patti Labelle's in the world. She is kind and generous, not because it makes for good press or a tax break, but because that's the way she is. Other so-called stars could take a lesson from her. Thank you Patty. I have been a fan since "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman", by Patti Labelle and the Bluebelles. I loved you then, and I love you now.

Review: Well folks, the wait is over!!!! I picked up this book as a birthday present for myself and loved it so much, I went back for 3 more. (GUESS WHAT EVERYONE IS GETTING THIS YEAR AS GIFTS). I've been a Patti LaBelle fan about 15 yrs now, and see her in concert at least 2 time a year. Now I feel like I'm having dinner with the DIVA, 1 on 1 (I"M IN HEAVEN :-) ). MUCH LUV 4 U PATTI !!! Review: This is a winning cook book. The name LaBelle says it all. I enjoy any and everything Patti comes out with. This encludes, "Don't Block the Blessings". Always looking forward to more of Patti.

Summary: This book is hot!
Review: Yes, this book is hot! I left my copy in the oven at 350 degrees for one hour and I couldn't touch it with bare hands. It was that hot. However, I think you should get this book. It's like Martha Stewart on laxatives. Really. It's cool, it sings, it whistles, it soothes the soul (and the belly, too). And you can compare hors d'oeuvres recipes with Martha Stewart's! What fun! But reader beware: in the heart of this text is a discussion of Planck's Constant, and if you don't get the recipe just right you will cause a thermonuclear explosion right in your kitchen. Seriously. This happened to a bunch of German expatriates after WWII who were working for the U.S. government. They all got together to cook some weinerschnitzel and the next thing you know Truman was telling Russia to keep its paws off Iran or he'd nuke 'em. Buy this cookbook. It's that hot.

Summary: Girlfriend can cook!
Review: Just looking at these recipes makes my mouth water. I only wish I had a bigger kitchen! I just got this so I haven't started cooking yet, but if the recipes are anywhere near as delicious as the stories are wonderful and touching (esp. Barbara's Friend Egg Sandwich), I am about to put on another 10 pounds. And have a LOT of fun doing it!

Summary: WOW! Sings and Cooks and LOOKS GOOD!
Review: I watched Patti LaBelle on Oprah today. I had no idea she could cook but the recipes looked so yummy I had to try them. Strange how once we see a person has one talent it doesn't even occur to us that there could be more exceptional gifts! I guess Patti was blessed twice (at least). I am somewhat concerned that Patti's dishes are only tasty in the high-fat, high-delicious mode. Do the recipes still hold up when they are modified to be low-fat - actually edible every day? If they are, this book is a 2000 Percent Solution for good food that is good for you. And I must admit, her slim body was pretty convincing evidence!

Review: I would like to say that I have been waiting for this release for a while now. I have alot of Patti memorabillia, and this is another to add to my collection. The Say-My-Name Smothered Chicken is Awesome. Patti really outdid herself this time! I am enjoying this cookbook with all of my family.
