Review: Thank you so much Lucie and Desi, Jr., for sharing your mother's story with us. I loved her as a child watching her on tv and imitating her in neighborhood plays. I used to daydream that my parents were Lucy and Desi (my mom is a strawberry blond from Illinois and my dad is a raven-haired Lantino). I feel that I have a connection somewhere along the line - I married into a Ball family and people are always asking me about "Aunt Lucy" . I only wish I had been so fortunate to know her in life. After reading this book, however, I feel I did!

I have loved Lucy from the very first time I saw The Lucy Show. Although, I must say, I am in love with I Love Lucy. I wrote a biography on Lucy last year for a project and after I got an A plus, I went to the library and found this book, Love, Lucy. Of course, I checked it out and read it. Me, I am really not a reader, but I couldn't find myself to put the book down. This book has it all, tears, laughter, pride, and joy!!!!

Review: Almost 10 years have passed since Lucille Ball died and yet people still Lucy! There is a reason why. She was real, funny and sincere. This book describes the real Lucy in vivid and candid details. It is must read for anyone who is a fan of I Love Lucy or Lucy herself. I just could not put it down. It frames her life in a way that you are able to see her in all of her glory. She has left the world a much better place and still gives many a reason to laugh and feel good. We will always Love Lucy!

The word "anything" can be daunting because there is such a fine line between appearing funny, and being publicly humiliated. Lucille Ball was willing to take every comedic risk thrown her way, from pies in the face to stomping on grapes the size of eyeballs. Her book acknowledges that the negative aspects of her personal life often renewed her incentive to strive to gain fame and fortune no matter how many obstacles she encountered. Comedy and tragedy were intertwined throughout her life, making Lucille Ball one of the most fascinating icons of her generation.
