Rating: Summary: They are BOTH IDIOTS!! Review: Both Franken and Limbaugh are self-serving celebrities and, of course,IDIOTS!. The only bigger idiots are the people who think these reviews can be used as an effective political forum. Keep your one-sided, self-righteous political opinions to yourselves. Please confine you statements to the quality of the contents of this book.
Rating: Summary: Al Franken is a Spiteful Fool Review: Readers, have you not heard that Mr. Franken recently sent an apology to John Ashcroft? You won't see that gloated about on CNN. Alas, it seems that in another failed attempt at humor and satire, he sent a letter full of falsehoods to John Ashcroft using Harvard's letterhead - without their permission. Do a search for "Al Franken apology" to see a sample of Al Franken's "satire". Mr. Franken, thanks for showing us that idiots eat crow. Stick to SNL (aptly referred to as "Saturday Night Lame" in a recent news headline) where you fit in, and let talented satirists write the books.
Rating: Summary: Rush Limbaugh is a junkie Review: Al Franken can ease up on the pathetic blockhead now that we know that the drugs are partially responsible for him being a big, fat idiot.
Rating: Summary: Mr Franken should rename is book, an Interview with a mirror Review: The only reason this book received "1 star" is there is not a "0" or"minus" option. Mr Franken is typical of the left.. When he has no argument, he bolsters his non evidence with name calling. This is pathetic attempt to justify the failings of the left. Not that I am saying the right is wright. By no means, before you can pull yourself up by your boot straps ,, you first have to have a pair of boots ( preferably with straps).. But as long as the left is creating government jobs to see who qualify for boots. The boot makers will be paying to much in taxes to afford to hire boot makers and no one except the government will be able to afford boots. Which they will pay for by rasing the tax on socks.. But that is OK because Mr Franken supports this kind of America and even though I won't buy his book.. There are a lot of people who will.. Request the copy printed in organic vegan ink.. You wont want to get blood poisoning through your hemorrhoids. But before you take my opinion .. Read the one in the book they did not like it either The only reason Amazon.com gave it a good revue is for the same reason the waitress/waiter says everything on the menu is good.. They want to sell the food even if the last three customers had to be taken to the hospital. Edward Clark California
Rating: Summary: ...and don't forget DRUG ADDICT Review: Tsk, tsk. Now we know why you're called "rush." What next, Dr. Laura will have an affair??
Rating: Summary: Timely once more Review: Rush was out of the spotlight for a long time, but now he's suddenly back due to his exposure as a drug addict. Al was right - Rush is a corrupt, lying hypocrite.
Rating: Summary: Ad Hominem Attacks Review: This book is largely about how a growing number of conservatives base their political operations almost entirely upon vicious personal attacks and offer nothing positive to Americans. So the title is a joke. It's ironic. To call Limbaugh a big fat idiot and then accuse him of using ad hominem attacks. If you don't find it funny, fine. If you didn't get that it was a joke, then you either didn't read the book or are incredibly stupid. Either way, you shouldn't be writing a review.
Rating: Summary: so sad, he used to be funny Review: stick to snl, leave the politics to politicians This is utter drivel.
Rating: Summary: I was so disappointed Review: I am a person who seeks out the other side. Bill Maher, for example, is someone who challenges my mind a great deal. I don't think Maher is correct, but I recognize that he is an intellectual. I also find Maher quite humorous, even when he is slaying those I consider the intellectual gifted minds of the Conservative party. al franken is no Bill Maher. When I think of franken, I'm reminded of a time when Bill Cosby tried to coerce Eddie Murphy not to cuss so much. He informed Murphy that he was too talented to be cussing so much. Of course, Maher cusses and goes to the dirt on occasion, but he surrounds that with some substance. franken, on the other hand, calls Brit Hume a dirty word. franken, on the other hand, challenges those who rebuke him to fist fights. If you've read this book, like I have, you will recognize it as a precursor to the anti-intellectual, primitive methods franken uses to somehow sway opinion away from those boogeymen that he creates for you. I have been a Limbaugh listener for many years, and I sought this book out to see if someone could challenge the ideas I have about the man. I simply found the excerpts juvenile and mean. I've found greater intellectual challenges through watching The Flintstones.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life. Review: I used to listen to Rush, I went to the Rush Rooms, I subscribed to the newsletter, etc. It seemed to real to be and if you only listen to Rush, it seems to make sense. I got this book to debunk it, but found it actually made MORE sense than what Rush was saying. Now it's hard for me to believe that I ever listened to this hate speech and jaw-flapping. I think this book was the first in a long string of information that is getting to truth out. I feel sorry for the time and money wasted on Rush for so long and that others are doing the same thing, but what I really feel sorry is that we allow this man to have to much influence when he is not stating the facts correctly.
