Summary: Real advice for Real people - Get this book
Review: A couple facts:
I am not a Christian.
I DID read the entire book. (unlike some of the other people who have given it a review)

Why do you seek out a partner in life? Because you have basic needs and wants that cannot be met without someone else. This book gives advice on those needs and wants of a man and a woman in a relationship and how to meet them.

I highly recommend this book. It can be read in less than a week and will give advice that can last a lifetime.

Summary: Best "relationship" book we've ever read!
Review: My husband and I read this book a number of years ago, and it has been invaluable in our own marriage as well as in friends marriages. We have given away many copies to friends who are struggling in their relationships, AND to newly married couples. Also, we teach a Marriage Workshop at our church, and this book is required reading. ( By the way, our church is one of the largest, Bible believing, Bible teaching, Christ centered churches in San Diego. ) Because we believe whole-heartedly in what this book has to say, we purchased 5 copies to keep on hand for when each of our 5 children decide to get married. This is a GREAT resource. No marriage should be without it!

Summary: A Potential MARRIAGE-SAVER
Review: A stroll through the swamp of not-so-helpful relationship books on the market today will reveal to the savvy reader this book's wisdom and value.

Husbands and wives both need to feel affirmed in their needs and feelings -- this book offers that affirmation.

Husbands and wives both need to learn about the extremely DIFFERENT set of needs his or her spouse has -- this book offers that information.

This isn't a "feel-good, all about me" book. This is a powerful, "don't be afraid to admit your needs and don't be afraid to learn how to meet your spouse's" book.

This book is, in a word, incredible. While laying before the reader the five most important needs of men and women, the author is also careful to point out that there is no "mold" from which we were all cast, and his book in no way attempts to squeeze the reader into such a mold. The point is DISCOVERING what our needs are (Mr. Harley helps the reader to accomplish this) and moving on from there.

Staying happily married takes effort and commitment. With this book in hand, a committed couple will have a powerful tool with which to move forward past the rough spots (we all have them) and toward a better understanding and deeper appreciation of each other.

I highly recommend this book.

Summary: His Needs Her Needs
Review: This book is written from a person with blinders on and needs to catagorize people and things in order to comfortably live. There are better books on the market. Don't waste your time with this one.

Summary: danger!!!! NOT A CHRISTIAN BOOK
Review: Demeaning and dehumanizing to women

ABUSER'S HANDBOOK ...."How to make your wife believe God wants her to submit to abuse."

...might be a better title.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Arrogant, Self-Serving, Unprofessional.....DANGEROUS!!!!!
Review: Doc Harley cites no ACTUAL RESEARCH, but freely shares his opinions, often pretending they are facts.

Doc Harley's opinions are openly hostile toward women. Women are treated as less than human accessories/sex slaves/housekeepers for their husbands.

BEWARE!!!!!!

Parts of this book could be considered a handbook for domestic abusers. I am a Christian woman, shocked and disgusted that this book gets any religious endorsement at all.

Summary: Great tool for a good, lasting marriage
Review: My husband and I read this book together about a year ago. Our marriage has always been good, but this book helped us to make it even better - and it just keeps getting better. So much of it is plain common sense, but it never occured to us until it was spelled out for us. People have basic needs and the best place to find fulfillment is in your spouse. This book has you outline your basic needs and then helps you implement a plan to have that need fulfilled in your marriage. It taught me alot about communication in a marriage. I highly recommend this to any married couple. I feel like it prevented problems before they ever began.
