Summary: Outlander Series
Review: I will probably never stop reading this series. The characters, Jamie and Clair, live. The characters are multi-dimensional and very human. These are my favorite books.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The Outlander - an Outstanding read!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the Outlander, although I was rather hesitant at the start as I really did not consider myself a reader of romance novels. However, I was soon captivated by the story line, the descriptive text and pace of the action, and eagerly sought out the other books in the series. I have read all four books twice, and intend to start over again. I recommend all four for the intricate plots and colorful characters.

Summary: Not my style, but...
Review: A friend suggested I read this book, but I had my doubts, since this is not my type of literature. Much to my surprise and chagrin, I hated putting the book down. I love the characters of Jamie and Claire, and their interaction makes me smile and at times laugh. I love the language as it is spoken in that time period. I find myself wondering what people of that time really would think of this era. I have now started the second installment and am enjoying just as much. I like this author so much, that I have started to collect her hardcover books. I have recommended this author to others, and thanks to my friend, there are three of us in the workplace reading the series.

Summary: Couldn't wait for the sequel!
Review: Although it was slow to start, once I was in the novel, I could not put it down. When I began to read "Outlander" I knew there were three books to follow, and once I was sucked into the world of Claire and Jamie I cleared my calender for the next month so I could finish the series!

Summary: Fun reading
Review: Engaging, exciting, romantic, realistic characters, and the history is even somewhat accurate! I loved this book, and devoured the remainder of the series. Not to give it away, but this book is after the happily ever after, and a satisfying read for anyone who is in love (or wants to be)

Summary: A good book.
Review: I found this to be a very enjoyable book to read. If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.

Summary: Always Captivating!
Review: I read Outlander several years ago when it first came out. I was captivated from the beginning and truly agreed with my friend that it was, indeed, the best book I had ever read. Just recently, in anticipation of the next book, I decided to go back and re-read that long novel...and again, I didn't skip a page. It was even better the second time. Whatever you do, give yourself some time and make room for this book on your list of "must reads". It'll be worth it! And if you can't talk your husband into reading it...just read him parts from the historical battles and in a few days you'll find him asking you about Jamie & Claire. This is definitely not a romance, so if you're looking for an intelligent alternative to those "soupy" love stories - get started with Outlander and read ALL Diana Gabaldon's books!

Summary: Not for the faint of heart!
Review: This was one of the most fabulous and engrosing books I have ever read. I think the problem some people have with it, is that it is life, not typical of a romance novel. The violence is part of life, as is the humor, the intrigue, the history, and the sex. Don't expect a bodice ripper, because you will be shocked! But read it! You won't be sorry.

Summary: I need more stars!
Review: This book is NOT a romance. Yes, it has romance and enough passion to singe the reader's fingers, but that is not what it is. It is not a historical novel or a time travel novel. This book -in fact, the entire series- is unique, and is GREAT. The whole concept is original enough, the research is obvious and impresive but it is the WRITING that is truly superb. The main characters, Jamie and Claire, and the host of secondary characters, are funny, many-layered and believable. There is good and evil, mainly in the person of Black Jack Randall, and there are many subplots, complex and interesting in their own right. Nothing is wasted; every little comment or incident is tied together, bit by bit, to form a complex and remarkable pattern. This is a book that you cannot put down and that you come back to over and over again, discovering new facts every time. The whole series has become one of my all-time favorites. I know that I am only one among many others waiting with bated breath for the next book in the series.

Summary: It was absolutely wonderful!
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Scottish history and the romance of time.
