Summary: if I wanted to read a trashy romance novel.....
Review: This is NOT science fiction/fantasy. This is a trashy romance novel! I am only 1/2 way through it & don't know if I'll make it. I can't understand all the rave reviews! The sex scenes are not all that great either. The plot is contrived. Don't waste your time if you are a true sci-fi/fantasy reader.

Summary: The most romantic story I've ever read!
Review: I NEVER would have picked up this book... I hate romance novels. A friend gave me the hard cover without the book jacket and I finished it in a day and a half. I gave it to probably 50 people. My father, from Clan Fraser, grew up in Inverness. The history is fascinating. I've gone on to read pure history about the time and place. The next two books captured me, but the last I didn't especially like. These people should have been killed so many times... it's ridiculous already. Will I read the next two? Of course, but the first was definitely the best!

Summary: Fantastic--absolutely LOVED IT !!
Review: This is the first book I have read by this author--and believe me she now has a follower. This book grabbed me from the start--well written, believable characters. Looking forward to reading more----

Summary: One of the most entertaining books I have ever read!
Review: Outlander, the first in the Old World trilogy, begins a story that still beckons to me. I read this book 2 years ago and it is still one of my all time favorites! The characters created are so real to life and the time travel so believeable that they inspired me to visit Scotland. Everyone I know who ever read this book has loved it. The other two in the Old World trilogy, Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager, are also very well written and worth the time it takes to get through the 900 pages.

Summary: For Lovers of Scottish Romance
Review: Admirers of this book will love Marsha Canham's THE BLOOD OF ROSES and THE PRIDE OF LIONS. They have everything but the time travel.

Summary: This is one of the best books I have ever read!
Review: This is a wonderful book. I have read every book that follows it - she promises 6 in all and each one so far (4 are out) are a fabulous read. I recomend the paperback - the books are really long and hardback is too hard to hold. I met her at a book signing, she is great. She has a great web site (search on her full name and it is easy to find). The site gives previews of the next two books.

Summary: LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I have never been a big fan of time travel books but this one was recommended to me by my librarian. A few chapters into the book and I was hooked. To me it almost seems believable that you could go back in time. Maybe not be able to change the outcomes of historical events but just to be able to go back in time. I find the characters to be believable, funny, sexy, and a good match for each other. Each one has their own history. I have read all 4 of the books in this series so far and have enjoyed all of them equally. I look forward to the 5th book and the companion when it comes out.

Summary: Captivating and romantic
Review: I was swept away by the book. Finally a romance between equals. Claire is intelligent and capable, qualities often missed in this genre of book.!!!

Summary: unforgetable escapism.
Review: I live very close to Culloden and have visited so many of the places that Diana Gabaldon has written about in her four novels. The ones that she has created have set me wandering in search, in Edinburgh and in Inverness, and I try to imagine the scenes there over 200 years ago.She has made my soul ache to be adored by such a man, (if one could exist),and to be as capable as Claire. ha! I hear you snort.... I don't care - these books have given me tremendous pleasure, so think what you will. I hate the thought of waiting yet another year until the next instalment.

Summary: A Captivating Tale of Love Set in Beautiful Scotland!!
Review: I'm usually a mystery/thriller reader, but a co-worker recommended Outlander for my vacation, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! From the time I started it on the plane until the last page, I couldn't put it down. Less than four days cover to cover. From the beginning Diana Gabaldon had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen next. The characters are so well developed, I felt as if I knew them; and the description of Scotland that Ms. Gabaldon depicts is so life-like I thougt I was there.

A must read - as soon as I returned from vacation, I ordered the other three in the series (from amazon of course), and finished all in one month. Definite late night, edge of your chair books.
