Summary: Quite entertaining, not her usual style though...
Review: but I have to admit that after reading "The Summerhouse" and "Temptation" I was kind of expecting it.

"Forever..." circles around a girl, Darci Monroe, ("no relation to the other one,") with an extraordinary power called True Persuasion, which can be used to...persuade people, what else?
Darci is a very likeable character and soon, she is hired as a personal assistant by a "very beautiful man", not to mention filthy rich, Adam Montgomery. Unknown to her, he needs her big V (?) in order for her to look into a magical mirror which can tell the past and predict the future. Adam is anxious to get his hands on the miror as he wanted to know what happened to his parents who disappeared a long time ago.

"Forever..." is indeed quite an entertaining read but I have to agree with Karrie from AK, United States that there didn't seem to be any sex scenes in the entire book and so we can't really call it a romance novel...
Instead, "Forever..." is more a fantasy-magical mixed with a teeny bit of romance, and if you feel that this is your genre, then don't hesitate to read this one.

Summary: Forever? Maybe to read.
Review: I love Jude Deveraux. Since A Kight in Shinning Armor. I am a very loyal fan of hers, although I don't get her new books right away.

This is a very disappointing book. I could not get into the story. It was slow moving. Too much worthless details. I could not identify with the lead character.

I was just plain disappointed with this book.

Summary: Forever by Jude Deveraux
Review: First off, I have to say that Jude is my all time favorite author of romance novels! "Forever" is the first novel of her's I've read in a year or so, so it was refreshing to read. I loved it, couldn't put it down. Sure, some of the characters were "unbelievable" but who cares? It's fiction, right?
I only had 2 problems with this book: The ending was abrupt and seemed rushed, or like something was missing (kinda like "High Tide") and there was no sex scene in the whole book. Although, the story didn't really need one, come on! It's a romance novel! It was like a lot of foreplay.....
I would definitely reccommend this book though, I really enjoyed it, it's funny, witty and the typical Montgomery man rescuing a damsel in distress.
And Jude, if you ever read this - Can you please write some more Historical Romance Novels? I like those best, and you're so good at them! Especially the family sagas like the Velvet ones (loved!) Thanx for reading ( :

Summary: Decent Jude Deveraux
Review: I haven't liked many of Jude Deveraux's recent novels, but I actually really enjoyed this one. Unlike "The Summerhouse", it really did include some romance. But just like "The Summerhouse" and "Remembrance," it didn't follow the usual romance story plot. I thought the story was very compelling and it truly kept my interest. As for the hero & heroine - I had no issues with them, but some other readers apparently did. I was more annoyed that she could eat all she wanted and not get fat than I was at any of her other actions. As for Adam, he seemed to be just like most of the other Montgomery heroes.

I think what was missing was the formula - there was no separation of the characters (except a little separation near the end) and no real conflict that tore them apart, only to have them brought back together when they realize how stupid they were. They were, for the most part, in love thoughout the whole novel and any conflict they had was with the other characters. I think I would actually label this as a sci-fi/fantasy type novel where there was some romance thrown in. However, you can usually expect Jude Deveraux to fall a little outside the norm.

I really enjoyed this novel, I found it to be a great read and worth my time. I wouldn't suggest reading it first in the line of novels by Jude Deveraux, but it was worth reading.

Summary: dissappointed
Review: At first, I was glad to see Ms. Deveraux wrote a Montgomery/Taggart book again...Until I read to the middle of the novel. It was unbelievable...and not in a good way, either. The novel was rushed and though she has done fairy tales before (wishes come to mind and remembrance, too) it's like her novels have lost the detail and rhythm lately. I prefer her earlier works.

Summary: The last Jude Deveraux book I will read.
Review: I have been a fan of Jude Deveraux's for many years, but if this is any indication of the new direction she is taking with her writing I will find another author to spend my money on. The prologue is the best part of the book. I didn't believe any of the characters. Who would write a book about an antagonist who is so stupid she doesn't use her magic mirror to find out that losing her virginity will cause her to lose her powers and a mother who cares so little for her child that the child lives a street person type of existance, but shows up to sacrifice her life for her daughter's? This could have been a really good book if the author had taken time to make the characters real and not cheat the readers with basically two epilogues instead of a real ending.

Summary: This book deserves -2 stars!
Review: I wish I could give it a rating that it deserved! This book is too superficial to work. I never cared about the characters--they are too one-diminsional. The reader is never informed how or why Darci will "be the end of" the evil witch. No romance, stupid story and boring characters. JD definitely "phoned" this one it. Poor! Poor! Poor!

Summary: Disapointed
Review: I have read all of Jude Deveraux and I feel she didn't put her heart into this book. Normally it takes me 1 to 2 days to read one of her books this one I kept hoping would get better but it took me 2 weeks to read and that is because i forced myself to. I feel also that this was a fast written book to put something on the shelfs but I felt it was a waste of money.

Summary: annoying heroine and lame plot
Review: My first taste of Jade Deveraux delightful books was a Knight in Shining Armor and I was blown away. I am not a regular historical romance fan but she got me hooked with her modern-medieval love theme era. I was excited to read this one and I can't believe it's from the same author.{Being on a plane and had nothing else to read forced me to finish reading this one!}
It's start off really well and kind of intriguing with a scary fairy tale like story. After the prologue it just went downhill. The story is like a bad grimm fairy tale imitation. The "heroine" is annoying and childish. The "hunk" was solidly good but then he fell flat for me toward the end. I mean, If the person I love tried to fry my brain{the heroine has like Carrie power} bec. of a hissy fit and almost killed me I would call it quits!
Anyways, I am sorry J.D and J.D fans but if I want to read scary or horror I prefer Stephen King or Dean Coontz. Reading about sacrificed, murdered, tortured children and good people got their throats cut or mutilated and written in such a matter of fact manner with no passion at all just won't do it for me.If you are curious and want to read the book, I reccommend to get it at the used book shops or library. Don't waste more than a dollar on it!
Still, this doesn't discouraged me from reaching another of J.D novels. In fact, I just enjoyed the "Temptation" immensely and I look forward of reading her again. I love the fact that J.D's novels are easy and quick to read. It's perfect for passing time or just want to have a fun read before bedtime.

Summary: What has happened to Jude Deveraux?
Review: I have been a huge fan of Jude Deveraux, and enjoyed many of her books. However, in the past few years, her books have really disappointed me. What has happened to this talented romance author? In Forever, Jude Deveraux pens a completely silly, badly written book. The charm and talent which she so adeptly captured in another time travel book, A Knight and Shining Armor, is non-existent in this boring book. I read the novel out of interest to see if her books have improved, and because one of the characters is from her Montgomery series. However, not even the Montgomery name (from other novels, including A Knight in Shining Armor, Sweet Liar, the Velvet series, etc.) can save this book. It took me FOREVER to try to get through this book, as I lost interest very quickly. The storyline is ridiculous, and you just don't really care about the characters at all. Even though I thought her last novel, The Mulberry Tree was an improvement from her recent novels, Jude Deveraux's writing has not gotten better through the years, in fact, I feel, quite the opposite has happened. I hope her next novel turns out better! Don't even bother with this book, try Judith McNaught or Susan Elizabeth Phillips for great romantic reads.
