Rating: Summary: Simplistic and unabashedly Eurocentric Review: A world history of philosophy that totally disregards any philosopher with no Graeco- Roman- White- European background? Hardly very convincing, but unfortunately not the only let-down about this neither particularly well-written nor interesting novel, that to me more closely resembles the outcome of an amateur philosophy / novel writing weekend workshop than a book with bestseller potential. A waste of time and money.
Rating: Summary: This is my favorite book ever Review: This is a wonderful book. It really made me think. Many books new books today are read, but no real thinking is done. This book makes you question the reality everones walks on. Not only did a learn much about philosophers, but the story was wonderful. I have read comments on how the plot was underdevoloped, but i believe that if thats your opinion (and everyones entitled to there own opinion) that you didn't understand the book. I now think in a different way. This book has influenced my life in a major way. I have a whole new way of understanding from this book. This bok was thought - provoking. After the first 10 pages, a put down the book, and thought deeply about the strong words written on these pages. I love this book and reccomend it to everyone who has a goal in life.

Rating: Summary: This book was both entertaining and enlightening! Review: This book was both entertaining and enlightening. I enjoyed reading it very much. It opened up some new channels of thought about my existence and my place in the universe.
Rating: Summary: Foolproof cure for insomnia... Review: This book is the most pathetic excuse for a novel I have ever encountered. This is obviously a texbook poorly disguised as a novel. The thought that I spent about ten weeks of my time in school reading and studying this book just makes me nauseous. I would also like to point out that the story line that this book is based on is poorly constructed and the ending is an obvious cop-out.
Rating: Summary: Exploring yourself Review: I'm an 18 year old girl who is about to go away to college, and I feel that it is a perfect time in my life to learn Philosophy. So I picked up a book that I've heard a lot about: "Sophie's World". I think that all people my age should read it, at least to understand a little about the history of thought. I was surprised at the amount of information I already knew, the philosophers I was already familiar with (most of them physicists). "Sophie's World" is an engaging and satisfying read. You really come away with a feeling of learning.
Rating: Summary: Felsefe tarihi bu kadar guzel ozetlenebilirdi. Review: This is the most entertaining philosophy book I have ever red
Rating: Summary: Excellent, fairly compact history of philo-y w/ a weird plot Review: Although appearing quite long, the book is actually pretty quick reading and is a quite engaging novel, simultaneously being an encyclopaedia of philosophy! May be hard to read for children and teens, but is really worth it!
Rating: Summary: This really was a wonderful book. Review: Sophie's world is a wonderful way to present philosophy to people of all ages. It was nice to find a book that I can read and relate to. My father and i both read the book together and it was fun.
