Summary: Sloppy Firsts Review by Jenny
Review: I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. It's witty, cynical, and entertaining, and you just can't put it down. I finished it in 2 days and cannot wait for the sequel to come out. Everybody, no matter what their circumstances are, can relate to the main character, Jessica's, problems, about the opposite sex, friendships, family, and school. I would recommend this book to all teenagers.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sloppy Firsts- real life, well written
Review: in a world where everyone becomes more and more typical, often focusing their lives on the same thing, i loved having this book to read about things i know are real. things we can find in our every day life, but aren't always acknowledged for their worth. It had meaning and a killer scenario. When it ended, i didn't just throw it in the back of my closet- I thought about it, and it stuck with me. That's my idea of a great book!

Summary: wow.
Review: If I could rate this book higher, I would. This is one of my favorite books. The main character, Jess, was SO real. I could really relate to her throughout the book. I didn't want this book to end.

Summary: Read this book..... NOW!
Review: As an almost 18 year old girl that has always stood strongly by the statement, "I don't like reading", I am more than thankful for picking up this book. After seeing it reviewed in one of my usual teen mags, I thought it sounded slightly interesting. It seemed to be unavailable at my local library for a while after that but i was persistant in finding it. Once I got my hands on a copy I couldn't wait to dive into the world of Jessica Darling. I was so captured by her story that for 5 consecutive days my every moment of free time was devoted to reading "Sloppy Firsts". I finished the book no more than 15 minutes ago and I couldn't wait to get on-line and tell the whole world to read it. It has effected me in sooo many ways! FINALLY, something that i couldn't only understand, but could really honestly in every single way both publicly and privatly relate to! I can't wait to read the next Jessica Darling novel!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: i loved this book!!
Review: i absoulutly loved this book for a bunch of reasons. Its soo funny, one of those books where you laugh out loud and feel like an idiot. and unlike most books for teens, the protagonist isnt a loser and does have a life. The book has just the right amount of friendship, family and romance and doesn't just focus on one of these topics. By the end of the book you are very attached to the protagonist and want the book to continue. I could not put it down. I would recomend this to anyone who enjoys a funny sarcastic view of life in high school.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Can't wait for a second helping
Review: Megan McCafferty's debut novel is a hit. It made me think back to when I was 15 and the things that I had to endure. Jessica Darling is a true character, she is someone that you want to get to know and love. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Summary: "Sloppy firsts" doesn't begin to describe it!
Review: If ever I have read a good book (and I've read uncountably many), then Sloppy Firsts is it. Megan McCafferty's talent is undescribable. She was able to write through Jessica, the main character, without over dramatizing high school life or sounding like an adult that is trying to sound like a teenager. She was right on target with Jessica's cynical, sarcastic outlook. Also, the things that happened to Jessica in the book are things I can relate to on a very personal basis. THIS STUFF REALLY HAPPENS! Being 17, I'm always on the search for a book I can relate to and this is it. Not only are her characters real and relatable, but Marcus, the genius mystery that seems to warm his way into Jessica's heart, is one of the most beautiful characters ever written. I fell in love with him, but then I had to remind myself that he is merely a character in a book. I recommend this book to anyone, young or old, but especially those who are looking to find out who they really are, because not only do you learn everything about these characters, but you learn a lot about yourself while you read this wonderful novel.

Summary: Hilarious!!!!!
Review: This book was so funny. I had to keep on reading to know what was going to the happen with her horrible friends and her confusing love life. You missed Hope along side her. It made you really laugh out loud. If you liked the books " Angus thongs and full frontal snogging" then you will ove lthis book. I loved Jessies sinical attitude

Summary: Not bad...
Review: When I decided to try "Sloppy Firsts," I was hoping for something along the lines of the Princess Diaries series or even Louise Rennison-tinged humour. What I got was a book about your average American girl who, in her trivial pursuits for hapiness, ends up finding out that she's pretty much been putting herself up for pain from day one.

From her "grounded gimphood" to her miserable job at the boardwalk, all the way to "Notso Darling's Agony of Defeat Volues I & II," Jessica "Notso" Darling stands out as a character, individual in her own right and from those of most teen novels. Her best friend Hope moved away last year and now Jessica is left with the "Clueless Crew," her so-called friends whom she actually despises. When Hy(acynth) Wallace comes to town, Jessica has high hopes for a friendship. Until Hy steals Jess's slogan "Bubblegum bimbos" and does a book on "icky" small town life.

It has some hilarious moments, some touching moments and some very personal moments and I have to give the author credit for making the characters so lovable/loathable.
