Summary: My new favorite book!!
Review: After the first three pages of this book i just couldn't put it down. I read it in four days it was so good. The story was writtin in diary form, which made it even more real to me. The diary was owned by a 16 year old girl and it took you through all her ups and downs of her hectic life of friends, family, and Paul Parlipiano. Many strange things happen in Jessica's town such as a movie star in disguise moves to town to got a teenage prospective so that she can write a book. The movie star becomes very close to Jessica only to disapeare and for Jessica to later find out that it was all a lie. Another strange thing that happenes is Jessica and all her friends turn aginst each other after a small summer fling that was blown way out of proportion. After the huge fight in the cafeteria about the summer fling Jessica looses touch with her closest friends leaving her all to herself. Who will Jessica befriend? What will happen to her other friends? You'll ahve to read SLOPPY FIRSTS to find out. The greatest book of all times!!!!!!

Summary: A Great Read For All Ages
Review: Sloppy Firsts, a novel written from the perspective of a precocious high schooler, is relatable to everyone, including those who have not been in high school in years. Jessica Darling's intelligence, awareness, and creativity is refreshingly brilliant. You will be instantly involved in her world which is full of wit and surprises. The twists and turns in the plot will keep you alternetly guessing and rooting for Miss Darling, but always involved and interested.

Summary: Back to High School
Review: Good book -- I felt like I was back in high school again. I'm glad that Jessica was a "normal" girl. She was most women in high school, and I could completely relate to her. Add to that that my friend called me when I was 2/3 through the book and started talking about our high school reunion that was held the previous night (I didn't attend), and I was right back there in 4th period study hall. A fun read, good escape.

Summary: For once, an honest book
Review: "Sloppy Firsts" is a novel that was a lot of firsts for me. As a seventeen year old, I have found in the past that I have had to read books like "The Fountainhead" and "Catcher in the Rye" in order to relate to a character in a book these days-because modern day writers have a tendancy to magnify what is either rare but interesting about teens that make the lead characters seem fake, OR they have teens worrying about things that real teens really don't have to worry about in the first place. But "Sloppy Firsts" is different. In it, the main character Jessica Darling is a human being; she's not perfect, she makes mistakes, and she's not a fake hug-you-every-time-she-sees-you type of girly-girl. She sees the world as it is, taking the good with the bad. It only took me about four hours to finish this novel. I won't call it a page-turner, because that doesn't do it any justice; it was more of a (I know this is going to sound cheesy)"self-discovery" thing for me. I mean, when I read it, (the day before yesterday) all I was looking for was SOMETHING to give me some comfort; I had no idea I would get so attached to the people in this book, and find myself relating to Jessica in almost every way. READ THIS BOOK. There is no way, no matter how young or old you are, that you will be dissappointed.

Summary: My favorite book of all time
Review: I want to thank Megan McCafferty for such a great book! Usually when I read a book I usually can't focus on it and it takes forever to finish. But this book only took me two days because I could relate to it so much. I liked that Jessica was smart and funny but not totally perfect like in a lot of other books about high school. I really felt as if Jessica was just like me. We had so much in common it made me keep on reading. I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next one.

Summary: A MILLION STARS!!!
Review: (...) it's more real than any book about high school I've ever read. Jessica is smart and funny and I wish I knew her in real life. Part of me wishes I WAS her! Buy it!

Summary: omg, this sums it all up perfectly
Review: As strange as it sounds, this book captures exactly what I have been feeling lately. I have little in common with the main character, Jessica Darling, but when reading her journal (the book), it expresses all the emotions that I have been going through lately. The depression, the fears that i have no friends and that my best one is abandoning me (although she didnt move away.....my predicamant was a combination of two of Jessicas best friends.....one leaving for a boyfriend and the other being the only one who understands her yet ..... doesnt really understand her), the boy issues, etc, etc, etc. All of the pressures of teenage life that parents think are trivial and shouldn't impact you. Yet in this book, I see that my parents arent the only ones who pressure me, im not the only one who feels like a fraud, im not the only one with firend and boy issues, that im not the only one.... Strangely enough, I didnt even pick out this book. My best friend (the one who has been making me feel abandoned lately) got it for me as a Christmas present that she couldn't wait to give me. As well as pointing out that I am not alone in my thoughts and feelings, it showed that no matter how i feel sometimes, i am not alone.......i have people that care about me and parents that mean well and boys.....well, boys will be boys. So i highly recommend this book if you are a high-schooler struggling to find yourself (or know someone that is).

Summary: A Book To Read Over and Over...
Review: I personally loved this book. It's been the best book I've read this year. It was extremely insightful. And as I sixteen year old myself, I felt I could relate to some of Jessica's problems. She made me laugh and her adventures were, well adventurous. It kept me hooked throughout, I couldn't put the book down. I can't wait till the sequel.
