Summary: good but not as good as
Review: Wally lamb did an excellent job in writing this book. there were a few surprises in it that somewhat shocked and in the same sense captivated my mind. I thought that it was very well researched in the character of the paraniod schizophrenic twin. The events were very real and painful. However, i found it somewhat more predicatble than she's come undone...which was by far his most breathtaking work. i read the whole thing in two days and each time i read it i had to flip to the front to make sure a man had written the story...outstanding five for undone.

Summary: Uneven, Self indulgent, Too tidy of an ending
Review: This was a very upsetting book to read. For an author to ramble on and on with the gritty horror of mental illness, including the book within a book, and then to conclude with a "and they lived happily ever after" ending is pure self indulgence on the author's part. I spent a good part of the summer reading this book and I felt it was a major disappointment.

Summary: Very thought provoking, challenging and life changing
Review: The book written by Wally Lamb is probably one of the most life changing books I've ever read. I normally do not write my views but I must say that this book touched my soul. The insightful look into the human soul was graphic, violent, tender and compelling.The way in which Dominick's anger was exposed and assisted toward redemption was done in a beautiful but painful manner. This book touches the very heart of the human experience in all ways. I am deeply indebited to Oprah and Mr Lamb for allowing the world to experience this "soul awaking in me". The book has compelled me to look within my soul and find ways in which I need to heal. This book is amazing.

Summary: 900 pages fly by, honest!!!
Review: After one week of completing I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE, I find myself longing for another dose of the Birsey clan. I picked this book up numerous times, but I always layed it back down because the 900 pages was so overwhelming. Finally, as a challenge to myself, I bought this wonderful novel and read it in just 13 days. Lamb has created a novel that was honest, current, and thought provoking. This book has at least one issue for every human being whether it be guilt, sorrow, lonliness, mental illness, loss of an infant, or suicide. This is my top 2 books of the year. I am so thankful I finally read it. I will remember this book...it is good writing...I know this much is true. :)

Review: As an English teacher, I am constantly searching for new material for my voracious students. This was a great book, filled with a myriad of issues that sparked countless discussions and debates in my literary seminar class.Thanks, Oprah, for choosing another excellent novel by Wally Lamb!

Summary: Kept thinking it might be too long
Review: Throughout this nearly 900 page novel, I kept asking myself what the author could have left out. Now that I have finished the book the answer is - nothing! The authors ability to weave the story through time is amazing. This is one of the best books I have read in a long while. I was a little worried about "easy feeling" of the ending. Everything seem to work out just right. Other than that, it's a masterpiece.

Summary: An excellent, life-altering read
Review: I stayed up until 3 a.m finishing this book, and shed more than a few tears along the way. It touched my heart in more ways than I can count, teaching me that life is full of challenge and change. In "She's Come Undone" I found beginnings of insights that became full-blown as I read the last few pages of "I Know This Much is True". Many thanks to Wally Lamb, who has given me and perhaps many others a new insight on life and survival, at it's very basic core.

Summary: Wally Lamb does it again!
Review: Having read "She's come undone," first; i was a bit critical. SHe's come undone is my favorite book. "I know this much is true," was a wonderful book filled with realtable characters. I read the book over 3 months ago, so the story isn't real fresh in my mind. While I was reading it I could totally relate to Dominick. Some of my favorite parts of the book was when he was in thearpy sessions. The book was a bit intimidating at first being over 900 pages, but this book goes so fast. I was unable to put the book down, allowing me to complete it in 3 days. WE HAD GONE OVER OUR ALLOTTED TIME, SHE SAID. WE HAD TO STOP. "BUT FIRST COME HERE ." SHE TOOK ME BY THE ARM AND LED ME BACK TO THE WINDOW."IT IS ALL CONNECTED, DOMMINICK," SHE SAID. "LIFE IS NOT A SERIES OF ISOLATED PONDS AND PUDDLES; LIFE IS A RIVER YOU SEE BELOW, BEFORE YOU. IT FLOWS FROM THE PAST THROUGH THE PRESENT ON ITS WAY TO THE FUTURE. tHAT IS NOT SOMETHING I HAVE ALWAYS UNDERSTOODL; IT IS SOMETHING I HAVE COME TO A GRADUAL UNDERSTANDING OF, THROUGH MY WORK AS BOTH AN ANTHROPOLOGIST AND A PSYCHOLOGIST." Quotes like this kept be going...this book is truly wonderful
