Summary: The BEST!
Review: This book tops the list, for me, of the BEST book I've read! I really did not want it to end. I loved and hated Dominick, but, through it all, I kept hoping he would find peace within himself, smooth out his life, and get back with Dessa. Just a housepainter! Not this guy.

Summary: An emotional rollercoaster that leaves you thirsty for more
Review: This book was every bit as poignant as predecessors "Catcher in the Rye" (Salinger) and Knowle's "A Separate Peace". It was eloquently written with brilliant candor and raw vulnerability. This was not merely a novel, but an experience...In 900 pages I have felt every range of human emotion. Lamb captured the essence of human nature in "She's come undone", and he has developed it even further this time. This book has haunted me during the middle of the night, and has reeled me in every morning for more. I revel in the thought of his next masterpiece.

Summary: I miss Dominick...
Review: after finishing this book. I felt like I knew him. Although the book is 900+ pages, I hated for it to end. The characters in this novel don't feel fictional. If it is ever made into a movie, I see Jeff Bridges in the title role!

Summary: Absolutely wonderful
Review: I have a headache today because I couldn't put this book down until very early this morning when I finally finished it. The headache was definitely worth it. Lamb has created a remarkable tale about family, mental illness, human frailties and nobilities, and, ultimately, love. The characters he has created leave this reader feeling like she actually knows them. I highly recommend this novel. It's one of the best I've read.

Summary: All time top 5
Review: Wally Lamb has an uncanny ability to create believable dialogue and situations with almost unbelievable characters. I was sucked in within the first five pages and remained captivated. I absolutely loved this book and strongly recommend it.

Summary: Twists and turns that left me stunned!
Review: Wally Lamb has the ability to take you deep into the minds of his characters, he has done it again with I Know This Much Is True. While reading I could feel the pain and misery in that family. Then when you think that nothing else could happen to the Birdsey's you turn the page and are stunned by the next twist of fate. I read this book in six days, it is hard to put down!

Summary: Wally Lamb - true to himself
Review: After having read "She's come undone" twice when it first came out, I was extremely anxious for another book by this amazing author. One Friday night, my weekly jaunt to the bookstore, made me so very happy - There was his new book and a whole 900 pages! I was not disappointed and savored every line. Powerful, more than just a novel - Plan on reading this one again too. Very poignant, quirky, loved all the characters. Surprising turns. Just wonderful! Thank-you, Mr. Lamb.

Summary: One of the best -if not THE best-book I've ever read.
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed She's Come Undone and Mr. Lambs wonderful insight into the feelings of the female sex. With "I Know This......." I think he has done a superior job in researching and reporting on mental illness. Having been in therapy myself for mild depression, I could relate to so many things Dominick's therapist was trying to get across to him. Mr. Lamb made me feel Dominicks pain and made me hope against hope that his life would turn out ok because afterall, he was only human. As I got closer and closer to the end of the book I got a lump in my stomach because I did not want it to end. And when it did end, I wiped the tears from my eyes and smiled for Dominick. Excellent job, Mr. Lamb. When's the next one due????

Summary: Wally Lamb is the king of dysfunction!
Review: The complicated relationships in this book and how the characters related to one another were masterful. And the parallels from the past to the present were profound. As an adopted child of a ethnic family, I found myself understanding a lot of the emotions that Dominick had and what motivated him. It emotionally wore me out to read this book. I can only imagine what it took to write it. Thank you, Mr. Lamb.

Summary: People, please control yourselves!
Review: Yes, I loved this book, found it moving, challenging and intriguing, but I have a bone to pick with certain customers and Amazon as well. Why on earth would you (as a whole) reveal key plot details which would obviously spoil the read for somebody else. True enough, I'm the type of person who covers their eyes and hums when a movie trailer comes on, b/c I want to be totally surprised, but I think that logically applies to book reading. Knowing every single thing that happens to Dominick before you've even cracked the cover is horrible. Reading needs to be delightful and surprising and full of twists and turns, not laid out like a road map where you know what's coming in advance. Reading needs to be a wild and unpredictable trip. Sigh. my bone is now fully picked. Mr. Lamb, I think you are an adorable looking man, and an amazing storyteller. Please continue to spin your marvelous webs upon us, your loyal readers. Ciao.
