Rating: Summary: Absolutely great! Review: I wanted a big, saga-type book to help me fill time while I'm in bedrest for the next four weeks of my pregnancy, but I couldn't put the book down and finished in 3 days. This is a well developed, in-depth story that I can't stop thinking about now that I've finished. The characters are lovable and infuriating both (just like real people) and none of their problems are easy to dismiss. With each new angle of Dominick's personality or his relationship with Ray my opinion changed and my empathy was tapped. This story is a great one and I must say it will be with me for a long, long time. YOU'VE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK.
Rating: Summary: Written from the heart Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this one - once again, Wally Lamb has displayed his gift for expressing thoughts and emotions of the main character with precision. Talk about dysfunction transformed into functional! We should all have the same psychiatrist - her words are a gift - one by one. This novel explores the angst and confusion of several generations. Thomas may be schizophrenic but he is tragically on target in his predictions and view of the world. One might ask which character is the neediest - the schizophrenic or those in the so-called healthy environment?
Rating: Summary: An idiotically long overdrawn story with Drab psychobabble. Review: It is typical that Oprah Winfrey would choose such an idiotic tale of woe because she feels that it will let her audience "get in touch with thier problems". Spend your time elsewhere and let other idiots buy this book to try to get on national television to meet Oprah (A WOMAN LIVING OUT OF WEDLOCK WITH A LOVER AND WHO FLAUNTS IT ON NATIONAL TELEVISION - WHAT A "GREAT" EXAMPLE SHE IS).
Rating: Summary: I could not put this down. Review: I read she's come undone, and loved that book. I happened to finish she's come undone the same time I know this much is true came out. I could not put it down. I ended up reading it in less than 3 days. I am amazed what Wally Lamb has done, I became a part of the story.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This is a wonderfully written story about a young girl and her journey to womanhood, despite many great obstacles. A must read!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Tale Review: Wow, a truly amazing story. Once I began reading about Dominick and Thomas's saga I couldn't put the book down. It has to be one of the best books I've read. Mr. Lamb has a truly sincere and heart wrenching way of letting you in on his character's mind and emotions. "I Know This Much is True" weaves a tale that has you clinging onto to its every strand, never letting go.
Rating: Summary: POWERHOUSE Review: I agree with every review below...Wally, will we have to wait for your next book in five years? I sure hope not! I couldn't get enough of your writing...your characters Dominick and Thomas still haunt me after I finished the book last week - they've become a part of my family and I even miss them very much! You've contributed, in my opinion, the best book to the American literature. Thanks, Carl.
Rating: Summary: WHAT A JOURNEY!!! Review: This is what reading is all about - an amazing journey throughout many lives from birth to death. I'm still in awe over the power and beauty of Lamb's labor of love. An American masterpiece - no question about that! And we will be hearing about Wally Lamb for the rest of our lives - he's phenomenal!
Rating: Summary: One powerful book Review: I'm the sort of person who draws the line at any book with more than 600 pages, but I must say that this is one powerful story. Even though it's nine hundred pages, it's very tightly knit. Lamb has written a wonderful book, a book which teaches us some truths about life without being preachy. I will recommend this book to everyone I know.
Rating: Summary: THe ending was amazing Review: I just finished the book. When I read She's Come Undone, I loved it, but the ending never really tied together. I loved the way that this one ended. I think that this book should be mandatory reading for people my age, just to show how others are treated.Melody GiggleMel@aol.com
