Summary: "Saving Faith"
Review: Baldacci better stick to courtroom dramas; "Saving Faith" stinks!, a generic thriller with no original plotting and little original writing; if the author wasn't Baldacci it would be still sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere, where it belongs; save your money for decent books, if you have to read this get it from a library, Amazon.Com will understand

Summary: One Star Two Many
Review: Saving Faith was tedious. I didn't care how it ended. I can't believe Baldacci submitted this to his publishers after his previous compelling reads. He appears to have sold out like Grisham only at least with Grisham one can envision an exciting movie. This was not worth anyone's time.

Summary: Utterly Disappointed!
Review: I have followed Mr. Baldacci's books from the beginning and was looking forward to his newest. I found the more I read of "Saving Faith", the more bored I became. Too much detail went into the political agendas, and not enough into the three main characters - Lee, Faith and Buchanan. I wanted more suspense, not just two or three lines every few paragraphs. I don't think that I will be buying the next hardcover, because I feel that I have wasted my money on this one.

Summary: A Very Entertaining Read
Review: Based on the reviews I read here I was expecting this book to be implausible, boring, slow - it was none of that.

I loved the CIA spy stuff and the differences between the CIA and FBI. I thought it started out quickly, used the middle to explain character motivations, then ended splendidly.

Several times I found myself surprised at the electronic surveillence or plot twist.

I was thoroughly entertained and would recommend this to anyone - as I would any of Mr. Baldacci's books!

Summary: Good Read
Review: This book is a good read if you are looking for something light and entertaining.

Summary: Struggled to get into it.....
Review: I think my opening line sums it up. After the first 50 pages, I started it again thinking I had missed something that would have grabbed my interest. But, after re-reading the same pages, I decided it wasn't worth my time......

Summary: Dumb & Dumber
Review: Saving Faith could have been a great book, one of those page turners you just couldn't put down. Unfortunately, the plot is so absurd that it biases the reader to not really wanting to go on.

A poor cliche of picking on our government agencies which has become so popular in this era of government miscues. But, give me a break. While fed bashing may be popular, their agents just aren't that out of touch or as blindly stupid as the author portrays them to be.

So much for the "dumb" part.

Now the dumber is the hapless private "I" who allows himself to be cought up in this quagmire of mithantrops. His brain was definitely operating in reverse gear when he decided to come to the aid of the damsel in distress, jeopardizing his career and his life, only out of gallantry.

At some point, our hero who his now inexorably involved allows his white hat to have a darkened moment, when feeling sorry for himself and drinking well over the limit, commits virtual rape. Like I said, dumb and dumber. And that includes me for spending good money on this poorly conceived piece of trash.

Summary: Ho Hum
Review: Ho-Hum. Strong silent (misfit) type endures much misadventure for beautiful power gal in way over her head with the wicked FBI/CIA types. Of course, she's rich and he's strong. Full of macho gadgets, mayhem, and murder. Are we supposed to believe this?

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Saving Faith while losing credibilty
Review: Finally, a forgetable Baldacci book. Average entertainment at best. Usually there is credibility in the story line. Not this time, the little woman with personal ninja in tow storyline just didn't sell. Better luck next time. Even the Babe didn't hit one out evreytime up.

Summary: One to listen.
Review: I get nothing but audiobooks (unabridged if possible) and this book is a definte *Winner*. Without comparing this book with his others and just on its own merits, it is suspenseful, full of plot twists and doesn't have any dull areas. I will confess the narrator leaves much to be desired. There are many other narrators who could do the job better but just let your imagination take the place of the Faith's voice. Having "read" hundreds of audiobooks I found this one to be totally engrossing. Baldacci continues to be one of my favorites.
