Review: Of course people who buy books featuring always the same character, and who will always win the end, loved the book, and will always give Cussler books great reviews. But this one is not his best, although a plesant read.

Review: Not only that the story is up-to-date and linked to the other Dirk Pitt stories, but also it is meticulously planned and perfectly written. The story is great and you WILL read it at once... I think this is the best Pitt story ever.(Be carefull not to fall in love with Pitt by the way, he is breath-taking throughout the whole book...)

Summary: A Cussler Masterpiece
Review: A teacher of mine introduced me to Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt when I was in 9th Grade. Ever since, I have been a loyal reader. I have seen Dirk get in and out of every one of his adventures to date. The one I like the most is Shock Wave. For the first time I saw some real emotion in Dirk's Character. It felt strange, but when you go through about 4500 pages with a character you sort of develop a personal relationship. Other than that the story is still the same exciting and unpredictable story where Dirk and the NUMA crew need to work together to save many lives.

Review: Shock Wave is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery action. And who else could provide this entertainment than Dirk Pitt? He is amazingly like a human superman and could live up to James Bond any day. Clive Cussler really did great on writing this book. He compares his self and his own NUMA adventures making Pitt better everytime. YOU GO CLIVE!

Summary: After Inca Gold, Cussler redeems himself with Shock Wave
Review: This was far from my first Cussler novel, in fact there isn't one printed beforehand that I HADN'T read more than once. I can't say I did not like 'Inca Gold' but it just didn't have the punch of the earlier Pitt adventures--that isn't to say it wasn't good (I know I'm ruffling a few feathers with this, but it's just MY opinion after all) on the contrary, it WAS fun to read, and satisfied my hunger for Cussler after the usual long wait... however I just wasn't expecting 'Shock Wave' to be as good as it ended up being, and THAT my friends was a pleasant surprise. I'll be reading Dirks adventures just as long as Cussler prints them (long live Clive) and as long as Pitt can hold his own (MUCH better than Bond or Ryan could EVER do) I'll be there to throw down my hard earned money for a few hours of escapism and PURE entertainment. One wonders just HOW many times Dirk can save the world, or be in the right place at the right time, but I'm glad he manages to do it just the same. Write me to tell me YOUR thoughts on Cussler and Dirk...I have pitifully few friends who read, let alone Cussler books. I NEED to have a friend who savors a good adventure novel like a fine wine... Review: DIRK PITT IS BETTER THAN JAMES BOND. I FOUND MYSELF READING THE BOOK(SHOCKWAVE)OVER A SECOND TIME AND I WILL TELL ANYBODY TO READ CLIVE CUSSLER BOOK IF THEY ARE INTO SUSPENSE.

Review: A suprising ending with thrills from start to stop. Pitt shows a side never before seen in any Cussler novels. He's as rugged as ever but still shows a softer side when the enemy hits close to home. This book will leave you cheering for Pitt, and cursing the bad guys. Any Cussler fan will be laughing,crying and loving the ever classic, yet different, believable Cussler ending.

Review: This was the first Clive Cussler book I read. I usually read things like Mary Higgins Clark so this was off the beaten path for me. However I actually loved It! Dirk Pitt can get out of situations that are truly not possibe to escape.I jsut finished reading Vixon 03 and am currently reading Flood Tide. I am truly a Dirk Pitt fan now. part of the appeal of Clive Cussler's books is the contiunation of Dirk's character from book to book. Love it!!
