Rating: Summary: This is the best book!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Before reading Shockwave, I hadn't read any Clive Cussler books, but now I'm addicted! Shockwave is the best!
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: I really loved this book. It was able to immerse the reader into the story and to identify with the characters. I was impressed with the setting and characterization of the novel and would recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: It was action packed!!!!!!! Review: There are many high points of this book. Dirk and all of his partners get into all sorts of situations from landing on a deserted island to almost being captured. Also Dirk has some cunning escapes. This book also talks about what could probably happen in real life if their was such an evil man who would destroy the diamond business all together.
Rating: Summary: Read for the Purpose of Review Review: Dr. Cussler, you are the man. I was coerced into reading this author for a school project, and ended up loving it! As for the believablitly... there is nothing wrong with being really smart. Dirk and Al together are a great team, and their cohorts at NUMA can always get them the answers they don't have. Dirk does, however, escape from situations he shouldn't have. That scene at the dock, and the scene on the cliff, were moments when I knew he should have been killed by the evil diamond people. This book is one that you loan to a friend on pain of death. It is good!!! The background info of the story is real and believable, and the action is perfect for a Dirk Pitt novel.
Rating: Summary: 'Couldn't put it down action packed exiting fun!!' Review: To keep it short...This book is every bit as good as Clive's earlier novels and Dirk Pitt continues to amaze readers with his uncanny ability to avoid death. Clive puts you on the edge of your seat and sends you for the ride of your life. -Excellent
Rating: Summary: My first Cussler book: An addiction for the next Review: At the outset of the story a ship sinking and a desparate attempt for survival: rubber raft, hot, scorching sun, shark infested waters not to mention lack of food and water. Hope appears on the once-thought forlorn horizon and human plight is overcome by shallow waters and land. Suddenly the reader, in typical Cussler fashion, is catapulted into the future and can't help but surge through the book to find out the reason for such a James Bond-like introduction. Cussler's extensive research on colored stones and diamond mine operations creates all the plausibility for another great Dirk Pitt adventure. The bad guys are crafted carefully by Cussler; the leader of them filled with a sinister urge to not only kill many people worldwide but to rule it through an enormous monopoly. I am currently reading Cussler's newest book, Flood Tide, and it's hard for me to put down at night; it continues with Cussler's fine mix of adventure and romance that keeps the reader wanting more.
Rating: Summary: I really love these books! Review: Andrew H from Pennsylvania is right--Dirk Pitt is cooler than Bond. (Even though I said in my review on Inca Gold that if you like Bond, you will like Pitt. I still believe that--but Andrew's right--Dirk Pitt is definitely cooler!) A freak accident occurs where everything within a certain area is detsroyed... Dirk Pitt has found the survivors of an expedition and sets out to rescue them. Next he tries to locate the area where the catastrophe originated. Will he find it or will he die trying? Read the book to find out!
Rating: Summary: A extraordinary tale were Dirk overcomes all the problems. Review: This novel is one of the most stimulating and heart-pounding books ever! Dirk Pitt is faced with some of the most mind-bogeling problems yet to come. In anycase he always figures out some weird, but realistic solution that no ordinary human could comprehend. All at the same time he makes the best of friends with everyone he meets that is not trying to kill him and he always attracks a beatiful woman which gets him deeper into trouble. Over all, Clive Cussler struts his stuff in this action-packed, realistic novel with his devilishly grinning, loyal main character, Dirk Pitt. Whose life copyes that of his creator, which makes Dirk Pitt seem even more as a human to the reader than a name on paper.
Rating: Summary: Never met a Cussler book I didn't like! Review: Another great novel in the Dirk Pitt series. The plot and action were incredible and made for entertaining reading. I pulled an all nighter after becoming hooked on it. True, Pitt does seem invincible but then, who wants their favorite hero to die?? Great job Cussler.
Rating: Summary: Shockingly Poor, Cussler has lost it. Review: I must say that this is the most ridiculous of the Pitt novels I have read. The whole plot is just too ridiculous (sound waves from mines converging and killing everything in a zone thousands of miles away, reflected with an old telescope) !.Also the discriptions of the women, I can only assume that Clive has never met any Australians. For me Mr Cussler has not written a decent book in ages. For a good read try some of his earlier books like :Mayday (The Meditereanean Caper), Iceberg or Pacific Vortex. I will not be buying any new Cussler books as this is the 3rd 'ok I'll give him another chance', Nigel
