Rating: Summary: Sudden Prey Review: Lucas Davenport is the detective in charge of the investigation. Davenport's ability to unfold the plot is extraordinary. This time he finds murder is hitting close to home. The action is non-stop and I could not put it down. Davenport finds the motive for the killings are revenge. I loved reading this book, once you start to read you are hooked!
Rating: Summary: Sandford's "prey" delivers again! Review: My 1996 New Year's resolution to buy only paperback was thrown out the window when I saw "Sudden Prey", the new John Sandford novel. And it was a resolution worth throwing out; Sandford does not disappoint. I found myself reading the
morning newspaper, wondering if the serial killers had been caught yet. I was so frustrated with his fiance's lack
of understanding for her danger and Davenport's commitment to
his work, that I wanted a way to have a dialogue with her. I had
to keep reminding myself that she wasn't a real person. In typical Sandford "prey" fashion, the action keeps you hanging
on up to the very last page of the book. Don't miss this latest addition to the Prey series. But be warned, it will leave you anxious to find out what he could possibly come up
with next!
Rating: Summary: Sudden Prey Review: Not the strongest entry in the series but a very good read!
Rating: Summary: A Real Page Turner Review: Once again Mr. Sandford has done it . I have read all of his prey books, and still cant decide which one I enjoyed the most. Usually Im on the edge of my couch, with the hair on the back of my neck standing straight up. Thats the kind of reading I like, and John has given it to us
Rating: Summary: Sandford pushes Davenport to the limit. Review: Poor Lucas! The man is close to breaking point. In the midst of the fury he is seen to be laughing, with a dead cop close by no less. How much longer 'til he loses it for good. Weather is his alter ego, devoting her life to the restoration of the human body. Can she restore Lucas? It is quite clear that Mr. Sandford is gearing up for the final Davenport outing - could it be "Let us Pray"? Either that or he gets married and settles down to a life of wedded bliss and devotes himself to creating crime games while the bad guys go about their business. I don't think so. Anyway, "Sudden Prey" is a rip roaring read but as I said, the man is a basket case (Davenport that is)
Rating: Summary: Tired main character Review: Sanford has over done leading character. After many books with same location and characters a new theme and cast of
characters is needed.
Rating: Summary: As great as ever! Review: Some people do not believe this can happen. It does! And the police are not that efficient as some people may think they are. Suicidal white supremacists are a threat to humanity if people like it or not. They might be misguided or blind, but so were the followers of Hitler. Great book! Beware, America!!!
Rating: Summary: A thrilling read Review: Sudden Prey is one of the best and most fast-paced mysteries I have read this year. Lucas Davenport and his team are on a man-hunt which quickly turns into a war between the good guys and the bad guys. The suspense is intense all the way through, and the book is un-putdownable. It is a book in John Sandford's Prey-series, but one does not have to have read all the previous novels to be able to really enjoy this. Do not read this book if you have things to do, you will not be able to do anything else but read! Highly recommendable.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Little Romp In Revenge Review: This being the first of my ventures into John Sandford's world of mystery, I was pleasantly surprised with the evolution of this novel. Sudden Prey unfolds as a basic, run-of-the-mill suspense novel; I was afraid I was in for a long, winding story. The story then quickly picks up speed, riding fun and exciting characters via fast-paced action. I found myself devouring chapters at just as quick a pace to keep the suspense at its revengeful pitch. John Sandford has a new fan!
Rating: Summary: Book RATES so high, it's off the scale! Review: This book is the best suspense book I have ever read. It had me reading, reading, and not wanting to take a break. The writing is outstanding. I especially liked the way the characters came together in unity even when you least expected it. I mean even the "bad" characters unified as a whole to create a plot filled with "juiciness" that is so rare to read indeed. Read this one, and you won't be disappointed. Add it to your collection today.
