Summary: One Woman's Story
Review: Lisa Beamer does an excellent job writing a simple yet moving review of she and her husband Todd's relationship leading up to the tragedy of September 11, as well as depicting their unwaivering faith in God before, during and after the tragic situation they found themselves in. The crescendo of events from the time the plane went down through the unraveling of what likely happened aboard that doomed flight, and straight into the media frenzy that followed, Lisa Beamer clearly set forth a goal to enlighten the world to her story and imortalize Todd with the words that share the title of this book. It is a goal she certainly acheives, regardless of how her writing seems to compell readers one minute, and almost repel them the next with a few too many disjointed, one line references to Todd's endearing personality traits; the same one line references that make this book as sweet and valid a testament to family emergency and survival as any I have read.

Summary: One story out of thousands
Review: One would imagine that the loved ones of everyone who died at the hands of terrorists on September 11, 2001 has a story at least as interesting as Lisa Beamer has. They just didn't get the media and political attention that she did. An attractive woman, she makes a good poster child for the tragedy.

This is a dull book. The most interesting part concerns what supposedly happened on Flight 93. Unfortunately it is all speculation.

I read it at the library. You should too if you want to read it. Spend your money on something else.

One thing I have wondered about which this book doesn't answer: What were the other passengers doing while Todd was on the telephone? It seems they got everything planned without his help and he gets the glory with "Let's roll".

Summary: Couldn't put it down.
Review: This book was a great read for me. From the moment I got it, I couldn't put it down, and when I did, I found myself thinking about it. This book was inspirational to me, and I would highly recommend it to those Christians and non.

Summary: Inspirational
Review: I can't express how truly inspirational Lisa Beamer is. She and Todd were very lucky to have had the privilige to be together. I enjoyed the strong religious basis for their lives. It was what I needed to bring me back to the church. The Beamers are what this country needs more of. Strong, spiritual people willing to take that chance.

Summary: A True, Heartfelt Testimonial: A Book of Courage
Review: This book was a true testimonial to courage, pain, and heartache. It was well written and allowed me to experience the terror, pain, and heartache, relate to and identify with the people who were involved in the tragedy. I bought the book and put it in my classroom. I read small excerpts and discussed them with students during the aftermath of the tragedy. My students loved the book and were interested. The book answered many questions for those of us who were in shock, awe, and wonder that such a thing could take place. Todd Beamer was brave enough to take a stand and try to do something before it was too late. My heart goes out to all who were involved in the tragedy and especially to Lisa, who I'm sure had to write through tears. She has written a book of courage, a true, heartfelt testimonial. I wrote a Southern memoir about my own pain and heartache of losing my father at an early age, and I know how it feels to lose a loved one with whom you were so close. Some people who bought this book also bought my book. My book is listed under biographies/autobiograhies, but it should be under memoirs too.

Summary: As time passes and memories fade
Review: As time passes and memories fade this book get's worse and worse. No one (at least no one the Govt wants to) will know exactly what went on onboard the flight that sent supposed hero Todd Beamer and the others to their deaths that second Tuesday in Sept of 2001. People got caught up in it all and along came this woman with her team of lawyers, agents and so on and decided that she was the rallying point for a grieving nation. This book says little more than how great Todd was (and face it we'll never actually know how great Todd really was) how great God is and how great babies are "Ahhh yes if only they would stay babies forever" the 19 hi-jackers were babies once also! I read this book recently and found out what swill it truly is. Lisa Beamers 15 minutes of fame thankfully are about over and her name is about ready to be added to the Trivial Pursuit catagory. This book is about as usefull as all those "Y2K Doom books" Check it out from your public library but don't waste your money on it. If you must buy it then use it to light the kindling in your fireplace afterwards because that's about all it's good for. Also why is Tood Beamers face not on the cover?

Summary: A Courageous and Wonderful Christian
Review: If you read two books in our life read this and A child called it.We all think we have it hard these are books that make you realize there is always someone else worse off than you.I applaud the way this woman had the courage to tell her tragedy and the life she leads with the lord and her children.I would personally like to thank her and her husband for saving all the people they did (i say she also because they both had the same morals and values.May god bless you and those children and the many others that lost loved ones on 911.I don't think i had a dry eye the whole time i read this book.

Summary: Empathy.
Review: The story of Lisa and Todd Beamer's Christian life is so inspiring. It's apparent how much Lisa loved her soulmate. What's amazing is that she chooses to grieve by remembering she'll see Todd again someday. Lisa talks about the legacy Todd left for their three children and how proud they'll be of their daddy when they're old enough to understand. But they must already be proud! Lisa's story shows that love truly conquers all--even death. Her firm faith tells tell that Todd was meant to be on Flight 93 that September morning. Her faith holds her even when she discovers Todd and 39 others would have lived had their plane been on the ground for ten more minutes. Ordinary Americans are extraordinary heroes.

Jenn's note: Three months after I read Let's Roll, I have an even deeper respect for Lisa Beamer. Her story led me to other 9-11 memoirs--most notably Love, Greg and Lauren. I am so in awe of all of the survivors' strength.

On September 11, 2001, I was bored out of my mind during 2nd period English. And when the news came on and the first tower collapsed on the television screen, it all seemed so surreal. Like a bad Independence Day scene.

As an eighth grader, I was so naive. In an Arkansas town with under 10,000 people, New York, Washington, D. C., and Pennsylvania seemed distant, far-away. I felt sympathy for the victims and their families, but I couldn't feel empathy because I had no frame of reference. Such tragedy had never hit me directly.

That's why the stories of 9-11 families affects me so much. When they tell their stories, I wonder what I would do in their shoes...and I begin to feel empathy.

Summary: Wonderful! Unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ...
Review: This book is a shining light in the midst of terror, grief, and disbelief. Lisa Beamer is a real Christian. She knows from Whom comes her strength. And, sadly, if a person has not acknowledged their ultimate need of a Savior, they will miss the entire substance of this literary work. Mrs. Beamer wrote this book in an attempt to reach people with a true story we can all relate to...
