Summary: Perfect book
Review: I absolutely loved this book. It's easy to read, concise, and has a summary after each chapter as a quick reference guide to its talking points. I especially enjoyed the chapter on the 2000 election. I learned facts that should shut even Al Franken up!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The entertainment value alone is worth the price!
Review: It's surprising that a book with a title this long is as clear and succinct as it is. In addition to some fast facts, the author provides many humorous examples that take some of the sting out of its ideological barbs. Even if you don't agree with everything he says, Smith's "Handbook" is a thought-provoking read that manages to inform while entertaining. Given its common sense approach, "The Official Handbook of the Vast Right-Wind Conspiracy" may cause more than a few readers to realize that they, too, just might be part of the VRWC.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book should be on every conservative's bookshelf. Mark Smith provides all the ammunition you need in a concise and humorous manner to overcome just about any loony left argument. A great resource for sparring with your liberal friends!

Summary: Smashing Leftist Lunacy
Review: This book shows that defeating the Loony Left is not only easy, it's fun. In just two hundred easy-to-read pages, Smith throws one verbal jab after the other (always leading with his right, of course) at the liberal wackos, exposing their left side and shattering their glass jaw. This book is filled with fun and interesting facts that will enable conservatives to best their liberal friends and colleagues at cocktail parties and around the water cooler (my favorite--did you know that most of the "animals" on the Endangered Species Act list are insects and invertabrates?). It's also scrupulously footnoted. The writing style of the book is light-hearted and tongue-in-cheek, but the underlying arguments are cogent and clear. Armed with actual facts, smashing liberal myths is as easy as ABCs and 123s. Smith's common sense approach to today's hot button issues makes one wonder why there was even a debate in the first place. If everyone buys a copy of this book for their friends and family, the question is, will there be a Loony Left left?

Summary: ONE STOP SHOPPING FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED TO BE "IN THE KNOW"
Review: If you are fed up with the left wing accusations of a "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy"...and find yourself frustrated beyond words when trying to "reason" with the lunacy spewed from the mouths of liberals just regurgitationg DNC talking points- NOW you will finally have all of the answers at your fingertips!
This book is concisely written, with a style that makes remembering short, power packed retorts as easy as 1-2-3.

As a state, national and local officer of the Young Republicans Organization (www.nysyr.us) I am constantly asked questions on how to deal with the liberal left- thanks to this book, the answers will be as easy as directing them to pick up a copy and make it part of their daily armor.

It's a quick read PACKED with power- read it today!

Summary: Look out, left wing loonies!
Review: When I got The Official Handbook of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, I sat down to take a fast look to see what author Mark Smith had to say. Instead of a quick look, I read every word of it! His arguments are cogent and intelligent, and the book includes everything you'll ever need to put any misguided liberal friends, acquaintances, or (heaven forbid) family members straight about their loony liberal ideas. This is a GREAT book!

Summary: Great Resource: Packed with Facts - Fresh and Witty
Review: "The Official Handbook" is a great resource for conservative diehards and wannabees alike. Packed with facts, it makes the case for conservatives in such a compelling fashion that I suspect it will convert more than a few liberals to the cause. What do I like best about "The Official Handbook"? It makes sense -- common sense -- and, for this reason, it is incredibly persuasive! The writing is fresh and witty and, when you're not nodding your head in agreement, you'll be laughing out loud. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about the issues but doesn't have time to digest the top twenty-five conservative best sellers. You owe it to yourself to spend the $10 and advance your education on today's hot topics -- besides, if you don't spend it, the government will only take it from you in the form of more taxes for federally-subsidized midnight basketball programs!

Summary: Good, but not great
Review: The offical handbook of the vast right wing conspiracy is more of a primer on today's current political topics than anything else. It provides the reader with the information they need to hold a conversation on one of the issues addressed. While it is a good introductory piece it does not go into full detail on its topics. Overall it is a good book that I would recommend as an introduction to today's political issues.

Summary: Hilarious Title - Great Content - Fantastic Book
Review: The title of this book is an obvious joke that's poking fun at Hillary Clinton's claim of a "vast right wing conspiracy" to cover up the criminal and moral mis-deeds of her husband. The author has a good sense of humor, and the fact that some reviewers on here view the title as an admission that such a conspiracy exists makes the title even funnier. Beyond the title, however, is one of the more readable books on liberal theology (yes, theology is a correct term because liberalism is a religion to the radical left-wing).

The format of the book is simple. Present an argument that's regularly made by the liberal elite in this country, and then spend the next several pages proving how wrong the argument is. This book does an excellent job of that, and presents its responses in such a way that readers can quickly reference the liberal argument they're having to defend against, review the actual facts of the issue, and counter the liberal argument immediately.

This book isn't written like the more weighty political texts out there. Those books take a single topic, such as liberal slant to the media, and spend the entire book showing how this is the case. For those who have time to read an entire book to learn how to defend against a single liberal argument, this is a great approach. But for those who need quick answers to arguments they are already in the middle of, Mark Smith's book is perfect.

I compare this book to the play book of an NFL coach. You already have scouted out the other team, and you know what plays they're likely to throw at you. You've built your play book to deal with their offense and their defense. And when the game starts, you're ready. Mark Smith has scouted the liberal positions (you can rely on it...liberals use the same old tired arguments over and over, figuring if they say it often enough and loudly enough, they'll be be believed). Smith has taken these liberal arguments and put together a play book that counters every one of these arguments in a quick, just-tell-me-the-high-points-so-I-can-respond-right-now sort of fashion.

Is this book the deepest political tome you'll ever find? No. But then it's not meant to be. It's meant to provide quick answers to the silly arguments presented by the brainwashed left in this country.

You want to be an instant expert, able to deal with the liberal assaults taking place in conversations all around you? Buy this book. Better yet, buy several copies and give them to those college friends of yours having to sit in the classes of liberal professors every day. This book will totally stifle them.

Because it's got the logic and truth that liberal arguments always seem to be lacking.

Summary: Something the Democrats wish they had
Review: A good writer on their side! It seems as though many wrote here that the book was "misleading." Maybe they didn't read the book but decided to write a review based on what other wrote. I DID read the book and wow! Thank you Mr. Smith for being wonderfully candid. You've done your homework and you know what's going on.

It's too bad the only thing a liberal can say is "You're stupid."
