Summary: A Nation Divided
Review: Man, it's been over 140 years since our nation has been this divided. Check out the reviews of this book... mostly 1 star, nasty, personal-attack ratings or five star, praises; not much in between. I for one enjoyed the book. It was an easy read, with alot to say. Did I agree with everything? No. But I did walk away entertained and enthusiastic... to read books by the "other side" (like Franken), and pay more attention to the news and politics. I do beleive the lines are being drawn very clearly in this nation. The blue vs. red states, the right vs. left, elites vs. average Joe's, whatever you call them. This is a cultural war, with extremism on both ends. Keep up the good work, Laura!

Summary: Shut up-- period
Review: A classic traitor from the right. Her book is terrible. I can see why Barnes and Noble would not want to put this trash out front for sale. Just like her show, which has turned into nothing but a Satirical joke. She would be better off to go back and watch her favorite reruns of the "Munsters" instead of trying to become a so-called radio journalist picking the minds of the far more intelligent left. Hate to see what she looks like without her hair.

Summary: Great critique of the elites
Review: This is damn good book. It offers a grate look at the elites who hate America. It outlines the Hollywood elite that makes sinful movies to corrupt the youth, the Jewish elite that want's to spread Jewism, the snooty intellectual elite that wants the UN to approve all of actions, and the bum-pumping elite that wants to destroy marriage. This book is wonderfuly refreshing in a time of morale decay.

Summary: Right-Wing is losing
Review: What you have hear is a perfect example of why right-wingers are losing the battle of ideologies in this country. Right-Wingers can't tell people anymore what they consider moral or immoral because religion in general is losing. People are finally waking up and seeing what a sham religion is. Right-wingers are afraid that the drones are waking up and finally going to see what a joke the right-wing is. When the right-wing has self-righteous people like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson on their side, you know the time is going to come when it all comes crashing down on them. I for one can't wait to see it happen. The sooner the better.

Summary: Shut Up Doesnt mean take freedom of speech away
Review: Hey reader from North Hollywood, CA USA said here that people like Laura Ingraham want to quash your right to free speech.
No where has Laura or anyone else said that you should have your freedom of speech taken away at the point of a gun.

You have freedom of speech, just as we have freedom of speech to point out the lies, flaws and foolishness of your leftist secularist point of view. Why is it that so many liberals think that thier rights are being violated when they get critiqued and mocked? On the contrary , we want you to keep saying the same silly stuff you always say so we traditional Americans can keep cranking out all of these best sellers pointing it out and having a little fun at your expence.

The real truth is that Liberals dont like being judged on thier actions or words, they dont like being told when they are showing poor morality or just being foolish, they cant respond to what we say with facts or in the arena of ideas so they automatically attack you and start spouting off on what a "nazi" you are for trying to violate their freedom of speech.

This is one of the points that Laura makes in her book as well as many others. Give it a shot you might like it.

Summary: Ingraham should follow her own advice
Review: and shut up. What makes her so uniquely qualified that her opinion is so much more valid than those she attacks? I'd love for Laura to enlighten me on what makes her more of an expert on politics than a lifelong activist like Martin Sheen or Mike Ferrel, the former chair of Human Rights Watch. At least these guys contribute to the arts on the side. Ingraham has no other skill than flapping her gums and repeating right-wing talking points.

This book is a hypocritical waste of paper

Summary: Loved it
Review: This should be required reading for Coldplay, Radiohead, Pearl Jam and many others. We didn't pay to hear your political anti-US rant, just shut up and sing!

Summary: It's her right to write it, you don't have to read it
Review: While I appreciate her educational background and recognize her right to state her beliefs, it is my right to disagree.

I am always amazed that the same political pundits (i.e. Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Jonah Goldberg, et al...) who support the cause of bringing democracy and freedom to Iraq AT ANY COST would deny that very same right to Americans. Last time I checked we had the freedom of speech to say what we believe.

It is also ironic that these very same pundits who spent the entire 90's (and the first three years of the 00's) second guessing, criticizing and attacking Bill Clinton now declare it unpatriotic and treasonous to voice our displeasure and disagreement with Bush and his administration.

This book is also very hypocritical, as stated celebrities are supposed to "shut up and sing" BUT ONLY when Laura Ingraham disagrees with their opinion. As long as their opinion falls in line with what she believes, they are not elitist. Hmmm...interesting.

I am a middle class working man who rents an apartment. I am a decorated veteran of Gulf War I who served with the 101st Airborne that supports our "boys in uniform" 200% - I am as far from elitist as you can get and I will say this, I do not like Bush or his administration I disagree with nearly all of their policies; while I agreed with the Afghanistan War; I disagreed with the reasoning for Gulf War II.

I love America so much that I would die to protect her; I would literally give my life to protect her citizens and ALL their freedoms and rights. I am not treasonous nor am I threat to our safety, in fact I think that Laura Ingraham, and her ilk, are the real threat to freedom.

Summary: Laura Ingraham in 2008
Review: There are a lot of good books out there for those who want to become enlightened. This book is one of them. It is a joy to read an author like Laura Ingraham who says everything we have wanted to say for years. For Al Franken, Michael Moore, Ms. Clinton and the rest of that upstanding crowd, by "we" I mean the "flyovers", the middle class taxpayers who DID realize and appreciate the Bush tax cuts, the public schoolers, the get up at 6 am every day and go to work crowd, the believers, the SUV owners. Yes I understand that it is my reponsibility to raise my own children and teach them good behavior and moral values...however, it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to shield them from the garbage which rains down on the radio, on the TV, in the newspapers and magazines, etc. This is specifically why I love Ms. Ingrahams book so much, because it speaks what we think and it reinforces what we would like to say to all of the "elites" out there who think they know what is best for America and Americans. Read the review just ahead of this one. Enough said. Thanks Laura.

Summary: For conservative warriors, one more piece of ammunition.
Review: No one book, unless it was five thousand pages long, can hope to arm the militant conservative with all he or she needs to know in the fight against liberalism. In this book the author contributes to the mosaic of conservative knowledge needed for that fight. Ingraham is particulary effective in detailing the threat to the America (the America our Founding Father's thought they were leaving as a legacy) from the international elites. Particularly good is her labeling of America's worst enemies as "elites". Better than the labels "left" or "liberals", the "elite" label goes to the anti-democratic nature of the attack on our Founder's America. (Robert Bork prefers to label these people as the "new class", since they are not all wealthy or well educated)

However, unlike books like "Arrogance" by Bernard Goldberg or "Why the Left Hates America" by Daniel J. Flynn, this book is a little shy on facts. There are parts of it that are long on diatribe and short on substance. A right-wing rant is just as useless as a left-wing rant. But, this book is not a rant, it's just that pound-for-pound it's not as hefty as a book like Robert Bork's "Coercing Virtue". This book deserves four stars, and Ingraham, if she does her homework, has every potential to grow as a signifcant contributor (perhaps with additional titles) to the conservative cause.
