Review: I purchased this book at a local benefit for homeless animals and it was the best money I've ever spent. In it are wonderful ways to become more involved in the causes that can help save innocent animals both in your commuity and globally. The book features the story, "How Could You?" which is guaranteed to leave you in tears. However, there are other stories which will bring smiles and laughter too. A great read and a book that will have a permanent place on my bookshelf. Buy this book!

Summary: Pieces of My Heart
Review: I was truly inspired by Jims book. His style of writing from the dogs perspective is very enlightening.
I have looked at my own life and re-evaluated some of my so called priorities! His writing inspires one to give unto those little creatures less fortunate than others. He opens up a whole different world to those of us who have'nt seen these situations up close and personal.

Summary: A Work of Heart
Review: If there was a 5+ I would choose it. This book is wonderful!!!! The way Jim Willis tells these stories from an animals view point is excellent. I had never heard of Jim Willis until I came across How Could YOu brought into the shelter I work at by a friend, I was literally heartbroken for 2 days but it made my drive to help animals in need stronger than ever. Pieces of My Heart is definately the truth, you can tell Jim Willis pours his heart into his writing that his plight to educate people and save the lives of ALL animals in need is true and genuine, he is a true unsung hero and angel in the flesh. I enjoyed his sharing his thoughts and feelings, as well as those of other animals.I laughed and cried through this book. Some of it struck home and I even had to stop reading until my tears cleard up. I plan to use lots of his work, with his permission to educate and bring new light into peoples hearts and in turn help our shelter and the animals there. Jim Willis is even offering his book at 40% off for fundraising to help shelters thanks to him and Infinity Publishing. This is a must have,you just have to meet Alexis, the beautiful(and she know it) sable BAssett Hound, you will fall in love with her. Tell all your friends, this is the best book to date and I hope someday everyone will think of animals as living beings and not property. If you don't this book is a wonderful start to help you better understand the feelings of many animal and share their thoughts. I have 3 cats and 1 dog and believe me I don't own them, they own me and they know it. ...

Summary: A MUST READ for Pittsburgh,Pa natives and all pet people
Review: it is a collection of real life stories and poems about Jim's experiences with animals and people that will make you laugh and cry sometimes at the same time..it explains the deep compassion this man has for all God's creatures and i agree with another reveiwer that it should be on the shelves of all school libraries...Pittsburgh Pa people will enjoy his memories of growing up in this area...Pittsburgh animals and animal rescue people will feel the great loss of his prescence and support when he and his wife relocate to Europe..Jim speaks from his heart...for all animals and for all people involved with animals. Pieces of the Heart would be a great book to give as a gift! I do:-)

Summary: Pieces of My Heart - Stole My Heart
Review: It is so important for me to express the value of this book, especially now with all the cases of deliberate acts of cruelty I have been reading about recently, regarding our domestic pet friends. It brings out the deepest emotions, helps us to wake up to what is going on in this world and why we must all make a stand to protect the innosent and be a voice for the voiceless.Thank You for allowing me to add my voice here also.

Summary: PHENOMINAL, GIFTED AUTHOR
Review: It seems that each one of these writings takes me to the maximum emotional level and I"m sure the next one will not measure up, but I"m always surprised and pleased that each one seems to get better. There is a lot of information here in perfect format for all to understand just how we humans treat the pets we call 'our loved ones' and 'man's best friend'. I think every student in America should read some of these pieces, so they can understand it's now up to them to improve the horrible situations we've left them. WONDERFUL WORK FROM A GENIUS!!

Review: Jim Willis has many gifts. Foremost, he has an empathy for animals unlike anyone I have ever met. His desire to help the animal kingdom has influenced every aspect of his life. But, his gift doesn't stop there. He also has a way of expressing his passion for all creatures in the most beautiful images--both in poetry and prose. All his stories tug at your heart while inspiring you to help animals in some way.
This book would make the perfect gift for any animal lover!

Summary: A compassionate man
Review: Jim Willis is a compassionate, sensitive man and an admirable writer, and this book reflects what his life is all about. I can't help but admire anyone who goes against the tide and lives his beliefs despite the odds. It's very easy for an animal advocate to become embittered, angry and alienated from general society because of the lack of humanity for other species among far too many humans. Jim has managed to retain his faith and his sense of humor through what must have been some very challenging times. He never gives up. He's not in-your-face, he's not confrontational. But he's effective, in his quiet, gentler way. "How Could You?" proved it. We need many more people like him on the planet. This is a book written by a true animal lover--someone who walks the walk. Read it. You'll be the better for it.
