Rating: Summary: God is energy and so are we Review: I am no longer confused by the term 'made in their image.' John explains convincingly that humans are all "energy" in the eternal world, so I finally believe in god, though not the Christian God perhaps. This is the most powerful book I have ever read! Proof for the most devoted cynic or skeptic that life after life does exist; Here is the evidence that there are genuine psychics/mediums who can communicate with those who have "crossed over." Mr. Edward gives the living "One Last Time" to hear from their Loved ones through sessions/readings with him. His graphic disclosures are consistent and objective without conflicting with ones' personal faith. I had a "religious experience" upon reading this book and by watching him with an audience. No one will finish this book without feeling changed, validated or at the very least awestruck. If you fear Death or dying, this book allows you to look forward to it. (maybe a little too much) John Edward is a statement for empirical evidence of the sixth sense. The argument for a modern metaphysical "science" has just begun. - as posted on darkpoet.net
Rating: Summary: Reality or Entertainment? Review: First of all, I must state that I really enjoyed this book. As a watcher of John's "Crossing Over" show, I was already familiar with how he works. He is very consistant whether on the written page or on TV. So, is this real contact with those who have died, or is it a very convincing act? I try to keep an open mind but still retain a measure of skepticism. I'd like to believe in it 100% because it diminishes some of the queasiness/discomfort/fear/sorrow most people feel when contemplating the pain that the death of a loved one would cause, or has already caused. But I don't believe I've ever experienced anything (yet) that would convince me that this is really how life and death work. I've never been tempted to see a psychic or medium. But since reading the book and watching John's show, I'm getting more and more curious. If you want to get a review of the book itself, here goes: The writing style is easy to read and generally flows pretty well. The stories John relates are often heartbreaking. There are also a number of lighter/amusing stories. If you maintain an open mind, you'll either enjoy the book as captivating entertainment, or, as an actual account of the extremely special abilities that John has. Either way it's a good read. I even read large portions aloud to my wife so we could both enjoy it together. On the other hand, if you're absolutely convinced that John is a charlatan who rips off hurting, gullible people, don't bother yourself with this book. Similarly, if you truly believe that what John does is satanic or evil then you really will hate this book. If you're just not sure and are willing to keep an open mind, you'll probably enjoy the book as much as I did. While I won't be fully convinced without personally experiencing this kind of thing, I guess I'd like to believe... What the heck - buy it! John, if you are reading this review, keep up the good work. You bring a lot of relief to people who are in pain. Do the ends justify the means? Well, sometimes maybe they do.
Rating: Summary: An eye-opener... Review: I've always been skeptical of mediums and psychics, but, following the death of a family member, I picked up a copy of this book. Regardless of your beliefs about the subject matter, John Edward does detail some remarkable experiences. If Edward does what he claims (and it seems true), he has a supreme gift. This book is highly recommended, especially for those who have suffered a loss. If you are a skeptic, beware, because the book may change your mind.
Rating: Summary: A Skeptic Converted: John is the Genuine Article Review: I first came across John Edward on the Sci-Fi channel and I will have to admit that I've always been skeptical of mediums and those who claim to speak with the dead. My 14 year old son died very suddenly and unexpectedly two days before Christmas 2000 from a seizure he suffered during the night. I found him very early that morning and my world came crashing down around me. I couldn't work for weeks and I still have enormous difficulty speaking about it. But as I read John's book, I recognized some things that I had seen and felt about Shaun's passing that I had never told anyone about. Some chapters were funny, some were serious, still others are emotionally draining but the things that John talks about and refers to in this book confirmed for me that he was and is genuine. He has an incredible gift. I will still always view mediums skeptically but John has convinced me that he's the real thing. Perhaps one day I will be lucky enough to receive a message from Shaun through him. This book is excellent, easy to read, and for anyone who has lost someone close, John has something to say to you here.

Rating: Summary: More Compelling Evidence Review: After reading many books by several empowering authors such as Betty Eadie, John Edward, Sylvia Browne, and Tiffany Snow, that I am still reading, my life has opened up to me in such a compelling and wonderful way. This new book is well written, and thought provoking. There are great transforming authors, who shift the consciousness of humankind in a way never known before, and have the courage to reveal their paranormal experiences. "One Last Time" is one of these.
Rating: Summary: Good book & unhappy non-believers Review: Good read - people are smart enough to figure out what they get from the book for themselves. As for the people who are going on about demons this and the devil that - well they must be unhappy to begin with to even believe in a so-called "devil" - God did bless them with a mind that they should actually put to use once in a while - people try to hide behind their interpretation of the bible and push it on others without realizing they could be wrong too - besides that these bible beaters talk so much about demons and devils that I think they actually like them.
Rating: Summary: Sensitivity, comfort and amazment, it's all in here Review: After attending one of John Edward's many seminars, I purchased his book, "One Last Time." It was the first book of John Edwards that I've read, and once I picked it up, it held me, I just could not put it down. With each "encounter" he speaks of in the book, it's like being there; he literally pulls you in, brings you along side him and makes you a part of it. You can literally "feel" his words and emotions. I highly recommend this book to everyone; regardless of if you have or have not ever experienced the death of a loved one. It will truly bring a feeling of peace to those who are afraid of death, and a feeling of comfort and relief to those who have had loved one's "Cross over," as once you read the stories in this book, you will know that your friend/family member hasn't died, they have simply moved on to the next level. My own outlook on the subject of death and dying has changed immensely.

Rating: Summary: I Got My One Last Time Review: I have to admit the title is what drove me to purchase this book. I mean, I love John Edward and the work he does but I have longed for my own "one last time" with regard to a loss I endured last year. While reading John's book I felt transported as if I was right by his side while he would do his readings, tell his stories and leave his reader spellbound by his gift. I so thoroughly enjoyed this book that I immediately bought "Crossing Over" which I just started this evening. After reading a statement in "Crossing Over" regarding Amazon.com comments on his "One Last Time", I realized, I've read that and I can write a review about it. John, although I missed you at the Borders book signing last night in Westwood, I feel I have to say that reading your books and watching you on your show, Crossing Over, provides me with the ever-empowering faith and belief that I've known since I was a child there IS LIFE AFTER THIS. Thank you!!!! Peace.
