Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: While at home, resting from surgery, I began watching John Edward's TV show CROSSING OVER. The show created a desire for me to learn more about the subject of mediumship and contact with the Other Side. So I bought this book.

It appears to be an honest, straight-forward account of John Edward's development as a pyschic medium. In the book, John describes, with great clarity, his view of his experiences with his psychic skills. The descriptions in the book of his sessions with clients are powerful.

For anyone looking for an in-depth, substantial discussion of mediumship and contacts with the "Other Side", this is a book well worth reading.

Summary: Interesting and entertaining
Review: A very good read. I highly recommend it. The writing style was easy to understand and excellent for a non-professional writer. The book is very informative and concentrates on John's work. I would have liked to see a bit more information on him. There are many interesting stories that will keep you interested and looking for more information.

Summary: One Last Time
Review: Totally incredible book. If you've watched Crossing Over with John Edward, this book explains the tragedies and triumphs in John's life and his struggles and acceptance of his truly enormous gift. Heartbreaking, breath-taking and funny. John's personality shines throughout the book. Definitely not a book to miss.

Summary: Lagit?
Review: Nothing in this book convinced me that this guy is lagit, maybe he is, but this book didn't convince me. All this book will do is tell you a little bit about his back ground as a child and teenage years when he really started being aware of his power. If you're a fan of the show all this book will do is make you aware of his back ground, thats all. I'm not saying this guy is a phony boloney, just being skeptical, his show is very convincing, but who knows.

Summary: I love him!
Review: I came from the die hard teachings that talking to the spirit world was evil. I was convinced until my own mother died. I had closed my heart out to the fact of her ever communicating with me again. Once she died I started having *things* happen. In my grief I had some people talk to me about their own experiences with *things*. There comes a time when you can't deny the things that happen and I couldn't agree that they were evil but found them comforting. I finally saw John's show crossing over and then eventually went to one of his seminars. If you are a skeptical please don't write ANYTHING until you have sat down and experienced it, or read all his books. YOu can't judge it until you have lived it. I went from his seminar (no I wasn't read) and from there I went out and bought this book. I have read the whole thing in about a week... I can't put it down, I want to learn more, hear more, experience more. I find myself opening up and really looking around at what goes on that is unexplainable. I also don't see my mother who has died as being so far away from me anymore but I think she is around me. It has really made me question all this hoopla that I was brought up believing about mediums being evil. I see nothing evil in John. I see a guy who is helping a lot of spirits and family members really connect and as the book says have one last time together. I don't know what's next for me, I just know this book is great and you can't put it down and I am learning so much.

Summary: His Other Gift
Review: Regardless of how you feel about John Edward the medium, I strongly recommend this book so that you can see his other gift: a writing style that makes you feel as if he were talking with you. Although I tend to believe that John has psychic skills, I am extremely impressed with his ability to express himself. This is enjoyable reading from someone who has no false modesty.

Summary: While We're Here
Review: I would like to thank John for the help he's given to all that have met him.
The most important message that he delivers, is that we need to communicate with our loved ones,( and others) while they're still here.
I lost my mother 9years ago and my husband committed suicide 6 months after that. Although my mothers' death was expected, it wasn't any easier to deal with. And almost immediately, I was sorry for the lost times I could have spent with her. Everytime I watch your show-that thought is constantly on my mind. I wish I could tell people how very right you are.
My father is still with us, When there're times for me to visit-and maybe I'm tired-I remind myself of your face and your message about keeping in touch with our loved ones NOW. I make time for our visits-and don't look for excuses.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart-and only wish I had your message while my mom was still alive.
Your program is educational for those that believe and besides-your very nice to look at also.
Thank You Again
Sincerely
Mary F. Wakup

Summary: Raises some great questions.
Review: I believe John Edwards and do not question his motives, nor do I believe he is a charlatan/swindler who is just out for money. In fact, I'm not skeptical at all, and believe that he does hear voices, just as he claims. However, I have a few concerns with this book. Please read below....

#1 A major difference with this book compared to Van Praagh's book is the Edward's shows seekers how they can recognize and develop their on psychic abilities. The thing I wish he had included is a means by which the person who is receiving the messages can know if these messages are accurate. I guess accuracy or truthfulness is assumed?

#2 Edward's book has convinced many that there is in fact an afterlife and that the spirit realm does exist. The thing the book does not do is tell readers what this spirit world is like. This world, the physical world we live in, is obviously a dangerous place. Is the spirit world like that? This world has both good and bad people in it. Is the spirit world like that? If it is, can we contact both good and bad spirits? This would be helpful to know.

#3, While it seems to be good for a person to be open minded, shouldn't we also be discerning? What I mean is, Edwards states that it is best to simply 'claim' psychic abilities instead of questioning them. This seems to divorce the mind from the subject ...so that truth is no longer what is sought...but rather experiences. Is that right and good to do? This question about truthfulness can then never be answered unless it is raised and the author discourages the reader from even raising it.

#4, 'One Last Time, to Say Goodbye'....Think about that statement. We have all lost loved ones. Well, I would think almost everyone has. How many of us long for just that, 'One Last Time, to Say Goodbye'? We each want that to be true, and we each want that chance. However, it still seems best to not allow those deep emotions to over-ride our mind and ability to think clearly and critically. Again, I don't question Edwards's abilities, but I do have concerns about who is on the other end of the line. Who are we saying goodbye to? Is it indeed our loved one?

#5, Many people claim to be comforted by the stories Edwards shares in the book. I do think these accounts can be compelling reasons to believe in metaphysical realities. However, while we may then know spirits exist, how can we know for certain that spirits cannot lie? Ok, much of what Edwards says is correct regarding the deceased person he is 'speaking with'. Could this be a spirit who knows these things, but is not the spirit it claims to be? (Maybe it's another spirit and not that person?) I'm just asking the question here. Are these valid and fair questions to be asking? I believe they are.

In short, I believe this book raises more questions than it answers, and I would like to here the author's answers to the points above. Can the spirit world always be trusted and/or is it a dangerous place? Inquiring minds want to know.

Summary: One Last Time
Review: I am a new person now that I have read this book!!! I no longer fear death but look forward to this wonderful experience! The world is a better place because of John Edward relating his unusual experiences in a loving and always humerous venue. I look forward to reading all of his books and any book he recommends. A word to the skeptics - I was one also but am no longer. Read this book from a view of a skeptic and I will let you know that your world of skeptism will be shattered!

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
