Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money by giving him more Review: The first few times I watched John Edward's show I was entralled with hope & happiness. As a result I became hooked on his show & watched it at every opportunity. I began to notice John's technique & became very disappointed. He begins very vague & then narrows it down by people's responses & facial expressions. To see if I was right I got together some of my neighbors whom I do not know their "deceased" family/friend backgrounds. I began just as John did very vague. "I'm getting a mother figure over here somewhere" etc... I amazed my neighbors. They thought I was physic by the end of our "session". I then let them in on my experiment & they were astonished. The moral of this is to not be so easily fooled by what we hope & long for. If you want to buy a reliable spiritual book then buy the Holy Bible!
Rating: Summary: loved and lost but always with us Review: I loved Johns'book. It is honest and open about his life and what he has felt about this gift given him. I would tell any one who has lost someone they love to read this for a help in healing their loss. He is warm, funny, and very honest, with all that he tells us about the people he has met and their lifes and love ones they have opened up to talk about with him and us.I am now reading The After Life Experiments by Gary E.R. Schwartz. It is also a book you should read if you liked John Edwards books, or have more questions you feel you need answers to.
Rating: Summary: Proof of life after death?? Review: I am a Christian woman. I believe in the Father and the Son. I believe in Life after Death. I have been told not to believe in false prophets. And I believe in John Edward. I struggle with my belief in what John does, because so many people tell me that it directly contradicts my spiritual beliefs. However, I cannot agree with that because of what I have seen John do. Once I knew about 'One Last Time,' I rushed out to get it. I read it in one sitting...laughing and crying throughout! It is so easy to be skeptical of such things...any thinking person would be. John offers that One Last Time. This book is a testament to that. I give this book my highest recommendation...to skeptics and believers alike. 5 stars out of 5!
Rating: Summary: An Aphiphany Review: I enjoyed this book very much. There was one of Johns stories that really struck a head on the nail for me. He puts such a good cross section of his experiences in this book I am sure everyone would be able to find that moment when your heart beats faster and you truly understand. Unfortunately I read Crossing Over then this book, so I did know what happened next in many parts in the book and also had to re-read parts of stories that were reiterated in Crossing Over. So if you have a choice read them in their proper order. Reading both these books and watching John's series on TV has really helped me change my mind about how I view death. I really thought the end was just that a deep black nothingness, I feel somewhat comforted by all John's stories.
Rating: Summary: Peace when you thought you'd never feel it again Review: If you've ever lost someone, suffered the kind of grief that buries you, that you drown in - you must read this book. I was lucky enough to read the book when I was as low as one can be and when I finished it I was simply overcome with a spiritual peace and feelings of hope.
Rating: Summary: READ THIS FIRST Review: If you are just beginning to get introduced to John Edward and his work, read this book first. From beginning to end, the least you'll get out of it is that John is a real person. The stories he tells, the experiences he shares are told openly and with truth and compassion. If all you conclude is that he's a good story teller, at least he may have opened your mind a little to the possibilities. If you have a healthy skepticism, well, John is right there with you. If you flat out disbelieve any of this could be true, you'll still be entertained...but it will be difficult to stay a complete cynic. This is not a "how to" book, it's John's life and the lives of those he's touched, as well as the lives that have touched him. He does, however, offer some suggestions for anyone wanting to test out their own ability to be more aware of the world, here and over there. No magic potions, just help and support in the true way John works. Buy the book, but have "Crossing Over" on your shelf ready to read. I read "One Last Time" in one sitting and was compelled to start right in on "Crossing Over." I now can not see a "Pathfinder" on the road without laughing. Sorry, John...that story did hit a chord. However, in both books, there is much to learn, hear, share, laugh and cry over. You don't have to be a believer in the "afterlife" to get something out of a book that does all that. Keep it up, John. The world is watching...and reading!
Rating: Summary: one last time by john edward Review: a truly remarkable story of a psychic medium, a peep into his life and into his readings. Beautifully written. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read his other books.
Rating: Summary: One Last Time Review: At one time I was completely skeptical of those among us who talk to the dead, or see the future. I am a Christian and was raised in a Christian home, so I ignored these types. However, one day I came across John Edward on television and was impressed. I bought this book and found the answers to some questions I had following the (accidental) death of my brother. Many examples are given in the book of those we have lost communicating with us. I had searched and searched for a sign from my brother that he was OK, even though I knew he was in a better place, I just had to know. I have talked with many people who go through the same thing. John helped me to see the things I was missing, and now I am more at ease, knowing he has communicated with me. It's like the old saying "You can't see the forest for the trees". I would recommended this book and the others by John Edward to those who are heartbroken over the loss of a love one. It WILL give you hope, and peace.
Rating: Summary: A Touching Read... Review: If you enjoy John Edward, this is yet another MUST have addition to your library!
Rating: Summary: A Touching Read... Review: If your a fan of John Edward, this book needs to be immediately added to your reading list. John brings such great humor, empathy and compassion to all that he does, this book included. You'll get to sit in the passengers seat so to speak as John takes you on the journey of how his show got started and the trials and tribulations of being a medium in this cynical world. John shares some of his most memorable encounters both personal and those taped for his show. I read this book in three sittings, and the only reason I didn't finish it in one night was I had taken Nyquil to get over a cold and couldn't stay awake any longer! A MUST read for anyone who has lost a loved one and enjoys reading about the afterlife.
