Rating: Summary: A Book That Gives Understanding and Comfort Review: In explaining his doubts about his abilities while growing up, resisting "strange happenings" that come to those who are psychic, John Edward finally gives in to his "gifts." His goal is to help others understand that life continues on, that our loved ones are with us and care about us. His book offers comfort to many who have suffered loss and are carrying emotional burdens. An easy to read book by a "down-to-earth" kind of guy. Rating: Summary: Life Goes On Review: As a psychic myself I truly enjoyed John's book. My many friends who have read my copy, found the contents inspiring and very helpful. Those whose loved ones have crossed over, read the book more than once and I have only just had it returned.I do like John's no nonsense, down to earth attitude. Good luck John.
Rating: Summary: Fun Read Review: I liked this one more than Edward's other offerings, CROSSING OVER and WHAT IF GOD WERE THE SUN? ONE LAST TIME has the same basic feel to it as the author's other works, but it had a funner vibe. I recommend all John Edward's books to those interested in the workings of spirit communication straight from the medium's mouth.
Rating: Summary: Adorno Hates You! Review: John Edward gives people exactly what he wants to here. He's like a politician with a campaign speech, if people don't respond to his rants like he wants, he pretends he never said the thing they ignore. If a politician feels a stance of his isn't giving them the response they want, they drop for something that will give them more votes, i.e. audience memebers. Giving people a false sense of hope through the use of vague statements and an understanding of human nature is a vile thing to do. Buts its the people who buy the books and watch the show that I really feel sorry for. Edward is a sideshow proprietor. He draws people in with a shrewd business sense and a gimmick, the two-headed fetus being his 'gift'. End of story.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: This book is amazing. I read it in one night, laughing and crying right through! I love John's humour. This book has reinforced my beliefs. I would certainly recommend to anyone who has lost a loved one and needs to be reminded that they are not gone forever.
Rating: Summary: Comforting and compelling Review: This book was exactly what it should be - an account of John Edward's experiences and how he got where he is from his warm Italian family beginning. What makes this book stand out is the fact that Edward doesn't advocate any particular belief system - and doesn't force the reader against a closed set of thoughts. Rather he presents the evidence and let's the reader decide what to believe. Mystical and comforting, Edward's account of afterlife communication is definately something to think about.
Rating: Summary: Good, but not what I expected Review: I love John Edward, watch him about once a week on Crossing Over. I was a little disappointed in this book, I think because of the format. He does start off by telling you how he found out about his gift, meeting his wife, his family life, and then into his jobs. I guess I really just don't think he's a very good story teller!
Rating: Summary: Well written and intriguing Review: I've first heard of John Edward after a female psychic told me to watch his show. She had just given me an online reading where my best friend who crossed over came through loud and clear. I started watching his show and was very impressed, although I'm sure the shows are edited to show John's best moments. Instead of being a weird, spiritual person I associated with psychics, John Edward seems like "the guy next door." His writing has the essence of his down to earth style. He doesn't try to force the readers to believe, but just relays his experiences with the other side. John does mention that his work is more art than science, proof is in the form of acknowledgments from his clients. What is amazing about John Edward is that he doesn't give generalities but specific, unobvious information told to him by the deceased, which is often confired by the living relatives. In this book, John talks about specific cases he worked on that really affected him on a personal level. It was fascinating to read how small, seemingly trivial actions done by those on earth seemed to have been influenced by those who have crossed over. John admits he doesn't know much about the other side, but gives his insights, which are very much in line with near-death experience accounts, especially the importance of the love we shown here on earth, and that earth is like a "school" for our spiritual beings. From reading of this book, I realize that when we cross over ourselves, the only luggage we bring is our life experiences, feelings, actions and decisions we made and how they affected others. And with that luggage, we have a life-review where we judge ourselves on how we did. John wanted to convey in this book is how love can transcends all obstacles, even death. How are you doing in this great test called life? Great reading and highly recommeded.
Rating: Summary: I'm no longer a skeptic! Review: This is a wonderful book. I purchased it because I was so touched by the television show "Crossing Over with John Edward". This book made me an even stronger believer that John truly does have to ability to talk to those who have "crossed over". Its a great book to start out with when wondering about the psychic medium world. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I've made all my friends read it.
