Summary: The Best of the Series
Review: I liked everything about this book and I have read the other Dark Hunter books. Not only is this about Zarek, but also about Acheron and Simi, giving the reader insight into two complex characters. Other Dark Hunters are introduced who may play roles in future books and Zarek's life is laid out for the reader in such detail that it is almost to heartbreaking to read. The romance between Zarek and Astrid is wonderfully detailed. If I had only one Dark Hunter book to choose to read it would be this one. You will not be disappointed. There is action, excitement, tears, joy and all the emotions that make a great story. Run don't walk to your nearest bookstore or computer and purchase this book for a terrific read.

Summary: Awsome Book!!!
Review: This book was great. I read it in a day! It was just as good as the others. It was great to learn more about Ash to. A must read for Dark-Hunter fans!!

Summary: Yum, I want more
Review: Ms. Kenyon just keeps getting better. Zarek is just SOOOOOOO Yummy. He's more complex than Kyrian or Talon, which makes him quite an interesting character to read about. Ms. Kenyon has developed him better than she has Kyrian or Talon, might be because she likes him better, I most definitely DO. Readers will also get glimpses of more hunters in this novel. Finally readers also get to see a female Dark Hunter, YES! Not just hear their names tossed out. Read to find out about her. I want to see more of the females make a guest appearances as well as a novel about a female dark hunter. I hope Zarek still makes appearances though.
I can't wait for the next YUMMY installment, as the SIMI says "The SIMI has needs!" The Catbunny Too. More Acheron please, and definitely more of the SIMI, she's adorable.

Summary: Sherrilyn You've Done it Again!
Review: OK now I hardly ever give a book a 5 star rating so this was a first in quite a while. I have to be really emotionaly touched by a story to give it a 5, this story did that. I always knew that Zarek's Story was going to be good. He is such a lost, tortured soul that it would be powerful, I just didn't realize how powerful.
Sherrilyn writes of a man who has never known any form of love or compassion. He assumes that he is worthless and that everyone should treat him that way. He has been alone for so long that even though he craves companionship, he has no idea how to talk to someone. You could actually feel how lonely he was and see the pain in his eyes.

Astrid is a Nymph (not Nympho, yet) who has come to judge him. She must decide if he is to live or be put to death. She is blind while on Earth and must use her heart to find the truth. When she meets Zarek, she knows that this man is not like any she's met or judged before. There is a real possibility that he is innocent.

An evil Dark-hunter killer is sent to dispatch Zarek. He want his revenge and is now after Astrid as well. Zarek must fight the fight of his life to save the one person in the whole universe that means more to him than anything ever has. He is willing to die to save her.

I laughed and cried reading this book, mostly cried. I know I just finished this book but I already want to reread it. The love scenes are hot but also so very tender that it makes your heart ache. There is humor in this book mostly provided by Simi and Sasha. There is danger and excitement. There is love.

I really can't recommend this book enough. It was simply a wonderful treasure.

Summary: Great book!
Review: This is a great book, but unfortunately not one of my favorite Dark Hunter. I loved the new information about Ash and the Simi, but by the end of the story became more wrapped up in that than the actual affair going on between Zarek and Astrid.

I found that I just couldn't relate as well with the characters in this book, probably because they weren't mortal. In the previous hunter books, Kenyon does such a wonderful job of pairing, every day real to life female characters, that this one was difficult to warm to. It is still wonderful. The Zarek character is wonderfully written and just as I imagined from Night Embrace. Keep up the good work.

Summary: Ms Kenyon keeps writing them, I keep reading them!
Review: For all of you, who still don't know it, DWTD is the 4th installment in the Dark Hunters (DH) series of Ms Kenyon.
Zarek is not the baddest, but certainly the maddest of all Dark Hunters. He has been banned to Alaska for the last 900 years, where he has had very little interaction with people...or living beings for tha matter (unless you count the hunt for his dinner). He lives in very small confinments and has a temper from hell.
Artemis decides that after a little incident in New Orleans (which occurs in Night Embrace) she is goign to get rid of Zarek permanently. Fortunatetly for Zarek, Ash (the DH's leader) is not about to let one of his DH's to go down with out a fair trial just because of the frivolous whims of a goddess. So he calls Astrid who is a justice nymph. Acheron and Astrid arrange everything and Zarek ends up almost dead at Astrid's house steps. Let the trial begin.
Astrid is now blind (justice is blind) and trying to get to know Zarek (no easy task with such a "sunny" attitude). But she is determined, if not for him, for Ash, to unearth the truth of Zarek's actions and attitude.
Little by little Astrid learns about Zarek's life before he became a DH. How he was a whipping boy utilized by his own father. How he never had anyone to claim as his own and all the damage a previous life had caused to a young man. And even, how other DH's judge him based on a crime Zarek can't even remeber. But Zarek is not ready to leave all that baggage out the door and have a happy life...with Astrid.
Every time Astrid learns something new about Zarek she falls deeply in love with him and she finds out who truly is. All the potential he has. Of course no love story is easy, so a little side dish is offered. A major Daimon...or actually a Day-Dark-Hunter enters the picture. This guy is mean and bad. Even worst, he's hunting Zarek down for a personal vendetta (the little crime our hero can't remember). Although he is hateable from the begining, as the book goes further we understand his motivation and his drive to seek justice any way he can.
The story is fantastic, well paced, touching and funny. In short is Sherrilyn Kenyon at her best. SO far this is my favorite DH novel and I can't wait to get my hands on the upcoming books (too bad I have to wait til next year).
SK has a wonderful talent of not only creating facinating worlds and wonderful storytelling, she also creates fallen heros like no one else. Sympathizing with them is as easy as breathing.
I would give it a 5 stars but I found that there were some pieces left unexplained. I have a feeling the author did it on purpose and will cover this in future books, but I still felt like I needed to know everything about Zarek.
Hence I'm giving it a 4 1/2 stars.
Highly reccomend and every other book she has written. If it has her name in it, it's sure to be a winner!
Run to the store to buy it if you still dont have it!

PS. Go Buckeyes!!!

Summary: Story - Okay ~ Kenyon - Not So Great
Review: First, I have to tell you all that I have been enjoying Sherrilyn Kenyon's books and most especially this series. I was looking forward to Zarek's story and I am not too disappointed in it. Simi and Ash are my favs. My reason for two stars: The story is quite predictable. We are given a good idea about who Zarek is in Talon's story and this book sheds more light of course BUT it isn't well written. Phrases like: 'vengence is a dish best served cold' and 'I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it' are phrases you find on t-shirts and what I would consider very poor attempts at humor. The fight scenes are too graphic, the intimate scenes are just as graphic and the balm to that is knowing the two main characters are falling in love. I have loved Sherrilyn Kenyon's love scenes because they are really hot, but this time I was put off. This book is not an intelligent read. It is missing the energy of the stories that came before. I will continue to read Sherrilyn Kenyon books, I love her Dark Hunters - If the rest of the series unfolds like this book did, my reviews won't get any better. If Ms. Keynon happens to read this: I have the greatest respect for you, I love that you are a writer and you share your craft with all of your hungry readers - Please slow down, and put your whole heart into it, don't become a slave to contracts or obligations dictated by agents or publishing houses. We, your readers, love you and know what you are capable of. It is obvious to us that you love your characters and you enjoy bringing them to life for your readers, give your stories the kind of time you want to. All blessings to you.

Summary: I love this series.
Review: This book happily arrived at my door not long after it came out from Amaz. I literally devoured this book in almost one night, and finally finished it the next morning. I thought Zarek's story so far the saddest of the group, but it ends happily with Zarek being pronounced innocent of all of his crimes. Astrid, the judgement Nymph happily falls for him, I think from the begining she had doubts of his guilt and that made her more determined to find the truth. The cast of amazing characters shines through in this book, but my favorite had to be Simi. She was an absolute delight, and I want so see more of her. Jesse, one of the Dark-Hunters also shows up. I happily recommend this series and to let you know that it's humorous and often times sad,but also always has a good ending. I can't wait until April when Wulf's story comes out. Read and enjoy.

Summary: GREAT!!
Review: I came upone this book b accident, and to my surprise it was a Dark Hunter Novel!! after reading Night Embrace, i had to get my hands on this book! However, you dont really have to know prior knowledge to understand this book. It was great! i was up all night finishing this book. Great, Just Great!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: HOT! HOT! HOT!
Review: This book is totally fabulous. Zarek is just plain sex appeal, he makes you want to throttle him one minute for his crossness then be the one to absorb all his passion. He is as hot as is all the Dark-Hunters. Can hardly wait to see if there is a next Dark-Hunter story maybe about Jess??
I really like the way Sherrilyn Kenyon refers to previous Dark Hunters to keep you in touch with all of them while reading about the new ones. Please keep these Dark Hunters Coming!!
