Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: Even though I can't say that this book is totally boring but I definitely have to agree that this is not Rachel Gibson's best. The chemistry between Jack and Daisy is not there ... and well, I can't really believe that Jack stays angry for 15 years, then still jumps into Daisy, then gets angry again, and forgives so easily. What's up with that?
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: I love this book. I could not put it down.
Rating: Summary: ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz Review: The book was pretty good if you have insomnia because it really puts you to sleep. Daisy and Jackson were about as appealing as root canal. Don't waste your money.
Rating: Summary: Boring and dull Review: I have to agree with the majority. This book was not worth reading. There was nothing to like about anyone and the story was boring.
Rating: Summary: One of Gibson's best Review: I can't understand why some people did not like this book. I thought it was one of Gibson's best. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. Rachel, keep up the good work! sjsc
Rating: Summary: ONE OF HER BEST Review: I am a huge Rachel Gibson fan and I can't believe any of her fans rated this book poorly. I literally did not put the book down once I started, it was that good. The book was full of passion and drama. Yes, I thought what Daisy did all those years back was pretty bad but she and Jack had so much history together that they just had to work it out and stay together. They had awesome chemistry and they definately belonged together. Hopefully they end up having another child that they can raise together (An epilogue would have been nice). Keep it up, Ms. Gibson. You've got a fan for life.
Rating: Summary: Not funny--that says it all Review: When I hear there's a new Rachel Gibson novel coming out, I pre-order. I've been waiting for Daisy's Back in Town for months. What a disappointment. If this had been written by another author, one who is known for angst not humor, I might have given it more stars. But, Rachel, if you're going to take our money, we deserve a good story in return. In the second half, there were about 10-20 lines that reminded me of this terrific author's voice, but it wasn't enough to save the book. And, to the reviewer who suggested all the negative reviews are written by one person, get over it. If you liked the book, fine. But many of us obviously didn't. Go back to Ms. Gibson's earlier titles. They are wonderful. I'm going to toss this one and try the funny ones again.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: What a groovy book, cannot wait for the next one!
Rating: Summary: A sensational book Review: Daisy's Back In Town by Rachel Gibson is a hilarious, sexy gem of a book. Daisy Lee Monroe is back in Lovett, Texas hoping to right a wrong from 15 years ago. She left town, married another man but now wants to come clean to Jackson Parrish. Jack wants nothing to do with Daisy and her reasons for being in town. Daisy Lee Brooks had ripped his heart out by marrying his best friend, Steven Monroe. Steven has passed away seven months ago and its taken Daisy time to get up the nerve to talk to Jack. Besides stirring anger in Jack, Daisy stirs up a passion he thought was long gone. Daisy becomes a sore in his side, showing up wherever he happens to be. Before they can have their talk, their passion explodes. When Jack learns what happened all those years ago and what was kept from him, he has a hard time letting go of his anger. But neither planned on their attraction to each other to be so strong. Jack and Daisy have to learn to let go of the past, to see if they have a future. Rachel Gibson has written another wonderful book, it has snappy dialogue, steamy passion and conflicts that will touch you deeply.
Rating: Summary: How depressing....... Review: Oh, how it pains me to write a bad review for Rachel Gibson. I so loved her previous stuff that I can't believe this was written by the same author. I cringed while reading the dumb jokes that fell flat and was annoyed by the sappy secondary characters who had way too much time on the page. I knew more about the heroine's sister than the heroine.....and I cared more about Dixie's deceased husband than I did about Jack Parrish. And as for Jack Parrish, he was a man who carried a deep hurt, but the author never allowed him to get over it and start again. Jack was as angry as if his girlfriend had left him yesterday, but for cryin out loud, 15 YEARS HAD GONE BY! And he was mean ...without even knowing yet that his son was kept away from him all this time! This was not Rachel Gibson material. Do not, repeat, DO NOT buy this book. Don't even borrow it! Hopefully, Rachel Gibson will get over this small writing crisis she's having and pull through on the next one. I have the faith she can do it!
