Summary: Karen Marie Moning saved the best for last !
Review: This last book in Karen Marie Moning's highland series is fabulous ! I simply couldn't put it down ! I found the characters to be intriguing, the plot to take many interesting twists and turns and the thought of changing the time in the past changing the events of the future to be thought provoking.

I look forward to reading Dageus's tale next year and can hardly wait until it comes out !

Summary: A journey back to the good ole days of romance novels
Review: Karen Marie Moning gives Virginia Henley a run for her money! After a series of "ok" or "good" romance novels all with similar plot twists and characters, it was so refreshing to find a book (I read in a day and a half)that I could recommend as a TERRIFIC read. The time travel twist is very well done and the characters made me laugh quite a few times. Just truly enjoyable!
I am a huge Virginia Henley fan and now a huge Karen Marie Moning fan. I've recommended this to several of my friends and family and went right out to buy one of her other books. I now can't wait until her next comes out!

Summary: What's not to love!
Review: This is my favorite Karen Marie Moning yet. A sexy intelligent hero, a fiesty, intelligent heroine, a great adventure, hot romance, great ending and a teaser for the next book. What's not to love. I want more of Gwen and Drustan.

Summary: 5 Stars is not nearly enough--What a fabulous read!
Review: I probably read 5 books a week, and it's difficult to remember a book I've enjoyed more than this one. This book literally has it all! A strong, funny and admirable heroine, a hero that is absolutely To Die For in every way, and a magnificent, well thought out, fast paced story that you just cannot put down. Start this book on your day off, early in the morning--because that's the only way you won't end up at 3:45 a.m. fighting to stay awake because you'd rather be sleep deprived and miserable tomorrow than stop reading now! This story gets you involved and keeps you involved from beginning to end, and when you finish this book, you'll put it on your "Keep Forever" shelf. As much as I read, it's tough to find a book that makes me want to stand up and cheer, but the Kiss of the Highlander has done just that. Bravo to Karen Marie Moning, this book is truly extraordinary!

Summary: Packed with emotion and intensity!
Review: Grief from the recent death of her parents, and the desire to escape from a humdrum life, send genius Gwen Cassidy on a vacation to the Scottish Highlands. She also hopes to meet a man she deems worthy of the gift of her innocence. Never in Gwen's wildest dreams does she expect the circumstances that lead to her finding that man -- or the incredible changes he will bring to her life and her heart.

Drustan MacKeltar is an enchanted Highland laird -- literally. Awakened from a five-hundred year long spell by a thoroughly bewitching woman, Drustan is more than a little confused both by her and his surroundings. Before long the Druid in him accepts his fate, but he vows to change it by returning to the past. Gwen Cassidy is to be his unwitting pawn in the event his plan backfires.

KISS OF THE HIGHLANDER is a roller coaster ride of incredible descriptive and narrative prose, intense emotion and steamy sensuality. Sparks and chemistry fly between Gwen and Drustan; their dialogue enhances the development of their relationship and I swooned over Drustan's Scottish brogue. Very different from her previous time travel novels, Ms. Moning takes a more scientific approach to the theory and concept of time travel making this her most complex novel to date.

Gwen and Drustan must overcome several serious obstacles in their quest to find the treacherous villain plotting against them. Secondary characters are just as in-depth as the hero and heroine and contribute much to their support. I can't wait to read about Drustan's twin brother, Dageus, in DARK HIGHLANDER, coming in the fall of 2002. The teaser at the end of KISS OF THE HIGHLANDER is most intriguing.

RITA award winning romance author Karen Marie Moning pens another contender for that coveted award. Kudos!

Summary: Just keeps getting better and better
Review: This is Ms. Moning's best book to date. They've all been great, but she just keeps getting better and better. I bought my copy the day it came out and have read it twice since. This is on my keeper shelf and I just wish I could get it in hardcopy.

The plot is wonderful, plausible for a time travel. (I love time travels, so sometimes I overlook a bit). Drustan is an Alpha hero without being a jerk about it. Gwen is smart, and resourceful, funny and vulnerable. They are the perfect couple. The humor, snappy dialogue and danger are blended perfectly.

My only complaint is that I have to *wait* for her next book!

Summary: A Love Story That Spans Centuries
Review: Gwen Cassidy wanted to change her life and experience the ecstasy of desire and so she books a vacation to Scotland. But things were looking bleak: all her travel mates were senior citizens and just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, she falls through a crevice right onto a body. Not just any body, mind you, but a 6½ foot Highlander in all his glorious condition. Trouble is, he's been asleep for 500 years.

Drustan MacKeltar, a old-school Druid, had been put under a spell, asleep until awakened by his savior: a unlikely, wee lass whose spunkiness more than made up for her lack of height. The two of them embark on an odyssey through the 20th century as Gwen helps Drustan return to his family home in the hopes of returning to his own time. Along the way, Drustan gets a quick lesson in future history, current fashion trends and the way of modern women. Gwen learns what it was she wanted in a man and eventually the desire and love she so craved.

They stand within the circle of magic stones and Drustan prepares to go back in time only to have something go wrong with his calculations. Within moments, Gwen finds herself in 1518 Scotland with her Highland laird. Except he has no memory of her and they find themselves pitted against a nameless enemy bent on destroying them both.

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. Ms Moning's flair for creating likeable and sympathetic characters, snappy banter between the characters and detailed research (as noted in the list of source books used for research) all come together to form a delightful story that will stay with the reader long after the book is finished.
