Rating: Summary: This is a MUST read for ANY Romance Reader Review: I like to think of myself as a romance reader who's been around the block a time or two. There aren't many stories that I've not read that haven't been a rehashing of something else. But this BOOK! WOW! I was captivated by the first page. You'll love the characters and actually fall in love WITH them! I stayed up way too late reading it, I couldn't put it down. The romance, the wit, the humor and oh yes..the love scenes. Oh MY! And the ending is one you won't see coming. You'll be tempted to flip to the back of the book to see how it all comes out. BUT DON'T! I've read all of Moning's works and I've loved them all but this one takes the cake. She's hinted to a sequel and now I just have to wait a year to read that one. A definate must read! You're going on a roller coaster ride of emotions and it's worth every single word!
Rating: Summary: Moning gets better and better Review: The first time I read one of Moning's books I didn't quite read the whole book but skipped a little. I could tell she had promise so I bought her next book and sure enough I read the whole book and eagerly awaited her next. Her third book was incredible and I did't think she could get any better but I stand corrected. It was a long wait to Kiss of the Highlander but was worth every minute. This book is superb and shouldn't be missed. From the first peek I could tell this book had it all; characters to love, sensuality to make you squirm, twists to keep you guessing and humor to make you laugh. I was torn between devoring this book in one sitting or slowly doling it out to prolong the pleasure. I loved the heroine. She was strong, determined and just quirky enough to be real. The hero could take me back in time with him in a heartbeat. And once again I find myself eagerly awaiting her next book. My only wishes are that Moning would write a little faster and her publishers would move the date of her next book closer.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL ! A Keeper!!! Review: This is a wonderful time travel that I read in one sitting. Could not stop! The only complaint I have is that I have to wait for the sequel (about a secondary character). I will never let this book go. It was so great. I will read it over again and again. Please Ms. Moning--keep writing and ask the publishers to speed up the release of your books.
Rating: Summary: Kiss of the Highlander Review Review: I am an avid reader and after rereading for the umteenth time everything currently in my libray, bought this on a whim. I could not put it down, even reread it within a matter of 2 weeks. Can hardly wait for the sequel. If you want tingle to your toes romance and supense, then this is the book for you. Easy read and lots of fun. Makes you want to say the "Druid Wedding Vows" to your mate!!!!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Yikes! and Hubba Hubba! Review: This is a not-to-be-missed book by Karen Moning who has, in the past, written time travel books that just don't have the sparkle of Kiss of the Highlander. In fact, I almost passed this one by based on the three previous books of hers I read. This is the 21st Century's answer to A Knight in Shining Armor and will satisfy all of us who have longed for a time travel story to match KISA. Both Gwen and Druston are strong as leading characters. Neither overwhelms the other, though Druston tries to overwhelm Gwen on practically every page and their dialogue simply sparkles. There's enough humor and heartache to satisfy every reader. The setting is very romantic and the time travel and "magical/mystical" elements adds to the intensity of the love story. The ending was surprising as I was expecting an ending similar to a Knight in Shining Armor; this was so much better! If I could think of one negative thing to say about this book, I would. But I just can't!
Rating: Summary: JUST FINISHED AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!! Review: I am not exactly a huge fan of time travel romance, but Ms.Moning can keep you captivated until the very end. This book was not only romantic and sexy but very funny. I fell in love with Drustan and I'm sure I will with Dageus. Ms.Moning please please please write a little faster!!!
Rating: Summary: LIKE NO OTHER TIME TRAVEL YOU'VE EVER READ!! Review: Karen Marie Moning has again given us a spectacular story filled with marvelous, unforgettable characters, a solid, intriguing plot and a love that surpasses time. If you are tired of the same-old-same-old time travel, hold on to your pants because this one is the most unique and inspiring I've ever read. Ms. Moning thought through every detail to complete this wonderful piece that will have to laughing one moment, crying the next always on the edge of your seat waiting for the next twist.I have to say I will never look at a tennis ball can again without remembering this hero. Wow! If only it were so. Thanks Karen. I can't wait for "Dark Highlander".
Rating: Summary: Made me laugh and cry at the same time! Review: I laughed and cried (literally) throughout this book. It is absolutely amazing at making you feel like a part of the book. You cheer for the heroine and also feel her pain. It's a must for anyone who loves good romance novels with a twist -- it's imaginitive and has a plot other than having two people get together.
Rating: Summary: What wonderfully romantic fun! Review: I'm picky - I've been reading romances since "The Flame and the Flower", and I know good books from bad ones, and have no patience with slow plots, dull or no personality dialogue, or just plain bad writing. Just finished this one last night - started it and finished it in one sitting, then paid the price at work today for staying up late, but Oh, was it worth it! I smiled and I laughed and I sighed .... it was a great book, with a hero every woman would like to trip and fall on and a heroine who wasn't afraid to tell him what she thought. I'll be reading more of this writer, and looking forward to new ones.
Rating: Summary: Kiss of the Highlander was an EXCELLENT book Review: I absolutely loved Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. I usually like time travel book, the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon being my favorite, but this book definately has become my favorite as well. I have already read it twice. The characters are well thought out and have many characteristics I can relate to. Unlike some romance novels, this didn't have the usual "I hate you but kiss me" theme at all. I laughed so hard while reading this book, and I cheered the characters on throughout it! I started reading this book at aboout 9pm the day I bought it and didn't put it down until I finished at about 4am - It was worth the missed sleep. I recommed this book to anyone who is looking for some laughs, an excellent story line, and just a good book to read. I can't wait to read Ms. Monings other titles!
