Rating: Summary: By far the Best! Review: I have been a Phantom Phan for a very long time, and I happened to run across this book. It is a brilliant work delving deep into the tragedies of Erik's past, explaining his life as the Phantom of the Opera. If you love Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom, you will love this -- the two are complementary to each other. The best part about this book is that Erik is no longer a nameless, faceless, killer, but a human being with the same desires as all of us. It's a must have!
Rating: Summary: Oh, God, is this good Review: There simply are not words in the English language to describe how enthralling this book is. It was incredible. Kay outdoes all others who have written Phantom books, perhaps even Leroux himself. It's just....wow.
Rating: Summary: None of us can choose where we will love - Magnificent! Review: The moment I started reading this book I knew I would be hooked forever. Susan Kay's version of Erik's story is absolutly the best. This story ripped my heart out. The first time that I read it I couldn't help but shead tears for the misunderstood Erik. "In darkness you came to me. And in darkness you left...."
Rating: Summary: Interesting but dissappointing Review: I had found Ms. Kay's book good but quite disappointing. So much detail to Erik's beginning days on earth and little or nothing to his final ones. The book leaves the reader sad and angry. Surely his final end as a genius deserves more than alluding to what happend behind a closed door for a few days. The Requiems that Erik demanded for others did not occur for him. I would suggest reading the book but a need for closure to Erik's story is missing.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ!! Review: I LOVE this book!! I got it from the library and have read it 3 times, going on 4!! I LOVE IT!!!! If you have ever wondered what Erik's life was like before the Paris Opera House, Kay has done a MARVELOUS job telling you about it. I would recommend this book for ANYONE!!!
Rating: Summary: Beautiful, yet heartbreaking story of our Phantom Review: This is truely a magnificent story of Erik, who he was and why he became the Phantom of the Opera. Kay did amazing research and linked it up well with every version of Phantom out there. And the ending is what we all want as Phantom fans! Christine really loves Erik. (Wished it was me) This book has inspired me to sing again, and enjoy the fantasy world I like to live in. Kateri
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Incredible Review: This book was a beautiful addition to the shelves of novels that have been written about Eric. Althgough not necessarily entirely based on fact, it is an excellent background to Eric's life and gives the reader a thorough understanding of the issues and forces which are at play with Eric's personality, mind, and soul. An excellent read and and excellent addition to your collection.
Rating: Summary: In this novel the Phantom is ALIVE Review: Everything in this novel paints such a clear picture of the phantom, and Susan Kaye Brown weaves a tantilizing story that one just can't put down. It even ends on an interesting and intreguing note...
Rating: Summary: wow Review: the story of erik that would make leroux proud. one becomes so involved in erik's life they want a differnt ending than the original. you cant help but fall in love with the man who was the phantom.
Rating: Summary: Magnificent! Review: I am a huge fan of "Phantom" in all its many guises, but this book is the best interpretation I have come across yet. It is an amazing work, absorbing and deeply touching. I'm about to purchase my third copy because my first two have fallen apart from repeated readings!
