Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Review: I LOVED this book. In fact, I thought it was btter than the original Phantom of the Oper. The only part I didn't like that much was the "Raoul" chapter. In a way, it almost gives the story a happy ending. The original book had a much better ending. It was so pathetically sad. But on the whole, this book was terrific. If yoo're a Phantom Phan, you have to get you hands on this book!
Rating: Summary: The best book ever written about the Phantom of the Opera!! Review: Susan Kay's version of the Phantom of the Opera is wonderful!! The way that she goes from different people's points of veiw including the Phantom (Erik) himself, you get a insite as to why the Phanotm acts as he does. The people who infulenced him. And with Christine telling about the things that happend to her, you get to see what it's like to be her. And when it ends with Raoul telling the story, you get his point of view on the Phantom, and you learn a little about what happens after the Phantom dies, and Christine's life with Raoul.
Rating: Summary: 100 stars! Review: This book is more derserving of 100 stars than just five! I was on the lookout for Phantom stuff when I saw Kay's Phantom. It was my favorite book and still is. A friend of mine who is a big reader read it twice. Which is a big thing for her, she NEVER reads books two times!
Rating: Summary: Thrilling!! Review: This book is soooo realistic. It is truly unbelievable. It is so real you feel as if you've stood there and watched Erik's whole life go by.
Rating: Summary: This book is not to be missed if you are a Phantom fan Review: This book expands on the original and lets you know where the characters end up. It is a marvelous addition to your collection.
Rating: Summary: The complete restoration of the Phantom of the Opera tale. Review: This book is a complete life story behind the Phantom character. It gives you believeable accounts as to what has made him the way he is. The character is painfuly realistic, and makes us think and reflect on our own stories throughout life...This book gives you the means to express your own pain and fear in safe territory...through his life.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I really enjoyed to read that book. It's amazing and haunting! Susan Kay is a wonderful writer and I hope to read a lot of more book of her. This had to bei the life of the "Phantom of the Opera" -I can not believe that it was otherwise! I really wept at the end of the Story and read it again and again! I read the story in German first and then in English. This version was perfect, because many scenes had been put out in the german-version. Example: When Erik took Christine to the lake and covered her with a shawl, and he got jealouse, of that shawl... There are many wonderful moments between the Phantom and his Christine and I don't liy if I say that this book really chanced my life!
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking Review: I'd give it 10 stars but it won't let me.
Rating: Summary: Simply Put: A Beautiful Novel Review: Phantom is a jewel of a novel and every page is a master piece by itself. The story captures your interest from beginning to end, its impossible to put the novel down. An important note: always have tissues near by when reading Phantom!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Brilliant ... Moving ...Captivating Review: I read this book and I believe it is now my favorite work of literature. It is very similar to the original Phantom of the Opera; however, it is also very different. It is a love, hate, romantic, emotional book. I think the reason that I liked it so much is because Erik and I share the same feelings toward the human race. Everyone that loves the Phantom of the Opera is sure to love this book for its different, yet suitable ending.
