Summary: Wonderfully Written
Review: This is my first time reading a book by Ms. Jenkins. It would be great to see the movie from this book. The history interwoven in the book was just as wonderful. Hester is a character for then and now, who seemed as if she tried to keep it all together. It made me think of what I would have done in that era. I am truly glad for those who fought in one way or the other to rid our country of an evil such as slavery. As far as her giving into her curiosity about sex, most of us have gone through that stage. Some has come away with real disdain that our first time was awful, but not Hester. Galen was nice character, although we needed to see more of what made him the person he is. All in all the book was a must read and a must keep for my children when they get older and is able to handle such a novel. Also, thanks for the bibliography. It will help me with helping my children with book reports on many aspects of the African-American culture and experiences in our country.

Summary: Magnificent
Review: It is how to decide which of Beverly Jenkins' books I love more (they are all wonderful and have made a romance reader out of me), but Indigo is definitely one of my favorites. It was so good that I didn't want to put it down.

Summary: One of the Best Books I have ever read
Review: Indigo was a book club selection of the month. After not trying to read due to what we thought would be a boring book turned out to be one of the most captivating books we have read in our three years of being together. From the first page until the last she keep you on your toes. I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Jenkins at Book Club event and she was such a warm person. We will be loyal fans for life. I pray she will continue to write stories we can all find a part to relate to.

Summary: The Black Daniel finds his Princess
Review: I absolutely love this book. You could feel the love between Galen and Hester.

He loved her sooo much, he was her friend, lover, protector, and teacher.

If I could find a man to love me that much mentally and physically, I swear I would be happy living in a shack for the rest of my life as long as I had that man by my side.

When Galen found Hesters mother that topped off the whole story. If you never read any of this authors work please, please read INDIGO!
