Summary: Eulaliaaaaaa! One of the best in the series!
Review: Mr. Jaques has done it again! This book was great! I have read most of the series and they're all really good. If you are a fan of the Redwall series, then you should read this book and add it to your collection. Salamandastron had a great plot, and it kept me hooked to the end. Mr. Jaques made it feel as if you were really there with fun characters, suspense, and surprises. He is the only author I know that can write whole pages about food! I would also recommend reading Mattimeo and The Bellmaker, because those were equally good.

Summary: An Epic Novel Worthy of Gold Binding
Review: I really liked this book! This has even more of the qualities that make up Redwall. The triple plot provides for an enormous dose of action and culture. Samkim and Arula are two of the best "sudden heroes" that I've read about. Urthstripe is one of the more powerful, and yet sad Badger Lords, and this shows the more emotional side of badgers. The Dryditch Fever outbreak provides suspense in waiting for Thrugg and Dumble to hurry up with the flowers. This is a wonderful book, surpassed only in the series by Mossflower, Pearls of Lutra, and The Long Patrol.

Summary: Best of the best
Review: This is arguably the best book in the already outstanding Redwall series. The paper cover of my copy is so tattered from more re-readings than I care to remember that I finally ripped it off and threw it away. Like most of this series, Salamandastron contains three main subplots: The plague at the Abbey -and ensuing quest for the cure, The siege of Salamandastron, and Samkin and Arula's adventures on the lake. While the first of these is average, the second goes above and beyond (who doesn't love hares?), and the third has Samkin, who I believe to be one of the best characters in all of Mr. Jaques' writing. The story is superbly put together, with all the apparently unrelated plots drawing up into a climax which is seasoned with plenty of twists and all in all very satisfying without being *entirely* happy. Overall, this is an excellent book, even when compared to the rest of this series.

Review: I am a student at NVMS, I have recently read thebookSalamandastron. It is about two badgers named Urthstripe andUrthwyte, who were seperated when a blue-eyed weasle assassin murdered thier parents. And now Farahgo the assassin is back. And is after Urthstripe's badger treasure, and the mountain. But as Urthstipe's daughter, Marra and her friend Pikkle come across the long lost brother Urthwyte, they travel to Salamandastron to help Urthstripe against this murderer. While at Redwall, a squirle and a molemaid are tracking two murderers and come across strange friends that help them track down the murderers but fate and destiney have the two brave warriors land up at Salamandastron. Now it is a fight of good against evil. Poetic justice occurs when Urthstripe kills Ferahgo and him self as the leap of the mountain to a death to finish the war. Urthstripe is burried in a badge treasure, Salamandastron has a new ruller, Urthwyte. Redwall has a new gardian, Marra, and justice is restored to Mossflower lands. But thier hearts will be scared for life. You will rejoice after reading this book.

Summary: Whew, a real epic that involves intellegent animals!
Review: This is the very first book I have ever read about the great adventures of the gallant Redwall critters. In fact, it was quite a sudden discovery in a local college bookstore and now a whole new world dramatically opens up to a diehard fan of anthropomorphic animals like myself ever since the good old days of Pogo and Wind in the Willows.

Here this tale takes place about two badger brothers, one an albino and the other one a lord of the seaside Salamanderstron mountain taking revenge upon a blue-eyed weasel and his bloodthirsty gang for killing their parents when they were both helpless little newborns. And the humble inhabitants of the Redwall Abbey are suddenly drawn into the bold new epic that involves alot of warmaking, scheme-hatching, journeying into the perilous unknown, fighting an unexpected epidemic and a sea monster, and such courageous exploits that will send a shiver running down your backbone every time you come across those parts. And an inexperienced young squirrel and his mole buddy as well as a plucky young badger girl and her shrew allies very quickly gets caught in the skin-chilling whirlwind as the great badger fiercelly strikes out at his old enemies from the past. And I must warn you, you WILL get caught as well!

Summary: I would rate this 1,000,000 if I could.
Review: I think this is the best Redwall book out of all. It is full of the battle, adventure, happines, sadness, and excitement that all books in the Redwall series should have. You never get bored reading it. It's the perfect book for fantasy and medival lovers.
