Summary: Running Out of Time- A So-So Story
Review: I have just started to read the book Running Out of Time. I like this story, because it gives a pretty good description of the 1800's. When Jessie finds out that it is really 1996 instead of 1841, I feel that the story becomes boring. I was not even half way through the story, and it was becoming very boring. Also, I would give this story only three stars because I thought that the plot was way too predictable. When Jessie's mother told her to meet her at night in the woods, Jessie already knows that it has something to do with the disease dipthera that is spreading around. Jessie's mom tells her how it is really 1996, and the author writes for about two chapters with Jessie's mom answering her questions about the real world. There were also many other things in the description that told you Jessie was going to have to go out into the real world to help her town. This story, in my opinion, does not deserve five stars or even four stars.

Summary: Running Out of Time
Review: I enjoyed Running Out of Time. My teacher read it to us in class and it was one of my favorite books of all time. Running Out of Time is about a girl named Jessie. When many children in the town get a disease, her Ma tells her that it is really 1996, not the 1800's, like many of the children in Clifton believe, and sends her out on a dangerous journey to find Mr. Issac Neiley, so he can help her get medicine for all the sick children. I recomend this book for everyone, even though the first couple of chapters are boring.

Summary: Running Out orf Time
Review: Our After School Book Bunch from the Alexandria Public Library in Alexandria, Ohio read and discussed the book Running Out of Time on Jan. 6, 2000, and most of us thought it was really exciting. The following is some of their comments on the book. Jamie, 11; I couldn't get through chapter 5 because the beginning was boring. Emily, 11; I thought it was boring in the beginning but it got really exciting the further I read. Brigitte, 11; You have to read at least 8 or 9 chapters until it gets good. Gabby, 11; I read the first chapter and didn't like it that much. Helen, 11; I especially like the part when Jessi talked to the recording on the telephone. Matt, 11; I didn't get to read the book but I think I would have liked it after listening to the discussion. Leslie, 10; I think the ending could have been more intense, but I liked the book and I hope Margret Peterson Haddix writes a sequel to this book.

Summary: A Unique Book
Review: This is a fascinating premise, and a very entertaining book. It may be sort of a book for younger readers, but it is also good for anyone who is interested in history, and the idea of someone from the 19th century (supposedly) experiencing the 20th century.

Summary: Running Out Of Time
Review: Running Out of Time is a great book and I highly recommend that you read it. It is about a 13 year old girl who thinks she lives in the 1840s, but outside of her small village it is 1996. When a disease comes about, only the older people know that in the outside world it is 1996, so Jessie's mom sends her out and she finds the medicine that could cure her whole village...

Summary: It is a very exciting book full of conflicts.
Review: This was a great book to read because of all the action. I gave this book my undivided attention. I could not put this book down because each page was full of details. All I wanted to do was get to the next chapter to see if everything worked out alright. By the end of the book there the problem was only half way resolved. The ending of this book could have been better.

Summary: It's 1996?!
Review: This is one of my all time favorite books! I read it in 1996, for a book report in 6th grade. Then I did it for a book report in 7th and 8th grade too! It's still my favorite book, and I'm going to meet the author on November 13 at my local library! It's just a facinating plot! IT's amazing to think.. well, what if this really happened? What would I say? Chalotte's Web and Running Out of Time are my favorite books!

Summary: A good book for third through fifth graders.
Review: I'm an eight-year-old girl who loves to read. The book got kind of confusing towards the end, but I figured it out once I finished the book. I liked it because at first I thought it was in the 1800s but then I found out that the year was really 1996!
