Rating: Summary: It was a fairly good book. Review: Miles Clifton onws Clifton where Jessie lives. She thinks it is 1840 but it is really 1996 and her friends are sick so she has to go to the 1900's.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite book Review: Would you like people starring at you every breath you took? That is what it was like for Jessie. How about if you thought it was in the 1840's and one day your mom told you it was 1996. Would you believe her? If you did would you think it was strange? I sure would. One day Jessies mom took her out to the edge of the land into the forest were no one could see her. She said " In the outer world it is 1996. People put up camera's and watch us all the time. They have tourists that watch us through them. None of you children know that. I'm trusting you to keep a secret. I need to ask this of you even though you may not like it. I need you to go out to where it is 1996. You are brave. Here there are bad bad sicknesses. That are lick nothing to 1996. They have medicines to cure them. I don't have a lot of time. You are to find this guy whose name is(I forget it) Go in this tunnel. Watch out there are guards. Put on these cloth that I think are the type they wear in the outer world.(Clifton)" After that she had full-packed Adventure with Clifton and other worlds around it. I recomend it to everybody in the world.
Rating: Summary: Exciting, sadness. A book you will never forget Review: this is the best book I have ever read. It constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat. I've read it twice already.
Rating: Summary: It is a must read! Review: I am a Kindergarten teacher in the state of Michigan. I was required to read this book and also many more for a graduate course that I am taking. So far this book has made the biggest impact on my memory. Jesse a 13 year old girl who lives in a small Indiana town in 1860, or so she believes. Suddenly, a diphtheria epdemic explodes throughout her city. She is called upon to get help form the outside world of 1996. She is able to sneak out of Clifton and hop on a bread truck. She needs to find a man named Mr. Isaac Neely only to discover that he is planning on killing her because she knows to much. The ending will shock you*****it is a must read....:) Dive in.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Very interesting. Review: I was 15 when I read this book, so I am over the recommended age. However, I know the Haddix family and thought that it would be interesting to read. Well, I can say that if this book had been around when I was a little younger I would have definately recommended it. It was very descriptive, vivid, interesting, and makes you wonder. I hope that you decide to read it, along with Mrs. Haddix's other books, especially Leaving Fishers (but that one is for slightly older children, so some may want to wait.)
Rating: Summary: It was a very good book. Review: I am a 15 year old girl and I really loved this book. It has great imagination beyond believe. I wish I was able to be like Jesse, she was so brave(not saying I'm not) and cool.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED this book. It was one the best books I've ever read. Review: I thought that it was an excelent book. My favorite character was Jessie. I really liked the adventerous events she went on. I hope that there is a sequal to thos book!!!
Rating: Summary: I've Read This Three Times and Love it Review: This book is wonderful. My mother and I thought Clifton was kind of like a cult, like Margaret Haddix's other book, Leaving Fishers. I thought it was interesting the way Jessie was confused by things we take for granted, like paper towels and phones.
Rating: Summary: Your average kiddie book Review: It was ok from my point of view. It started out boring, but got a little more interesting near the end.
Rating: Summary: An excellent book anyone will love! Review: This book is definitly one to treasure! I loved reading it. At first I thought it was a bit boring but after the first couple chapters it became really intense, and I was HOOKED! It has a bit of science-fiction, witty humor, drama, history, and adventure! It appeals to all kinds of readers. I can't wait to read more of Ms. Haddix's books!
