Rating: Summary: Nothing But The Truth Review: I thought Nothing But The Truth was a great book. The author used alot of irony. One example is at the end when Philip didn't know the word to the national anthem after he got suspended for singing it! I think you'll enjoy this book because its funny and exciting. Thats why I give this book five stars.
Rating: Summary: Against School Policy to Show Patriotism Review: This was a great book for our high school English class! We all enjoyed it rather well. For all of the different characters, we read the parts as if we were them. I give Avi two-thumbs up for his superior work that he does. It shows what Americans are all about, patriotism for the country we live in!
Rating: Summary: FIVE STARS Review: We all read it in our 9th grade class and everyone wanted to be Phillip Malloy. AWESOME, FANTASTIC, OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! A must read of the millenium!
Rating: Summary: A Bad Book By A Great Author!! ô¿ô Review: INMO this book had a very interesting form. I liked it in some parts but it was REALLY drab and dull in most. I however really like Avi as an author...this however was not a good novel. I would recomend The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle rather than this waste of paper. The ending is REALLY REALLY awful too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: What is the truth? Review: This is a great book. This sattire ridicules society on hoe the media can twist everything. A simple rule breaking incident got twisted into a one-sided national story. Discover the tiny factors that led to the explosion on this incident.
Rating: Summary: it was a pretty good book Review: i think this book is prety good but if some one good im me or send me mail my screen name is Ohundred and tell me about this book ill be really thankful or i could trade something for info about this book
Rating: Summary: A Fun Book That Will Keep You Laughing From Start To End! Review: This book was one of the best I ever read. It is so funny. THe main character tells one lie that gets bigger and bigger and bigger. The funny part is that he lives in Harrison and so do I but in adifferent state. The only thing is I don't get the ending completely. I highly recommend this book because it is hilarious.
Rating: Summary: Truth: does anybody know? Review: Everyone has their own opinions about patriotism, right? If you're interested in diaries, memos, and conversations, then this book has your name all over it! Just two quick questions: do you swear to tell the whole truth? Does anybody say no? This book is based upon these two questions because you must act as a detective for who is telling the truth and who isn't.
Rating: Summary: Bad format, unlikely plot Review: I was unimpressed with both the format and the plot. Although a normal format could have improved this book, it had few good points IMHO. Unfortunately, I now have a bad opinion of Avi.
Rating: Summary: An excellent novel. Review: A boy starts to hum the national anthem in a homeroom class at school, without a problem! Then he gets moved into another homeroom class for the second term. He hums, and the teacher suspends him! He goes home without a problem. Then the press finds out and makes a big deal about it! The press says it's fine to hum the national anthem in the classroom. But, is that why the boy got suspended?
