Review: I loved this book. It was an easy read. Sheild Copeland did a good job of tying all the the character's stories together. I must say that I was surprised with the ending. Based on the ending, I see a sequel in the near future. I highly recommend this book for others to read.

Summary: An okay read.
Review: I must admit that it was fast paced, which I could truly appreciate. However, you HAVE to read Chocolate Star first in order to truly enjoy this book. Since I did not, I did not have the maximum appreciation for the book. It is a easy read, but not dramatic enough for my taste. It is definitely a vacation read. You can read it while you are on vacation without being bored and having the ability to put it down.

Summary: Good to read about familiar characters
Review: I simply loved Chocolate Star so I was extremely excited when I learned there would be a sequel. However, I wish I had read the first novel again before I picked up this one. There was such a long gap between the two and it took me awhile to remember what happened between Topaz, Germaine, Gunther, and Sean. Chocolate Affair is well-written but I would definitely advise reading Chocolate Star so that you will get more out of it. Judging by the ending, there will be a part three but I hope it comes soon.

Summary: I Love Chocolate!
Review: I wanted to let you know I just finished reading the book. I couldn't wait to tell you that it had me smiling, cheering, and angry. I was happy that Nina got a man she could love and respect. I loved the fact that she and Kyle adopted Topaz's and Sean's love child. (I must admit, I was hoping it was Germain's, so they could live happily ever after.) Speaking of Topaz. What a "bad" girl. I couldn't believe she flirted with Sean even after she got back the man of her dreams. Keisha is the "glue" that holds these people together. I was glad she had a son to complete her happy family. And poor misunderstood Jade. If the girl had just gotten off her high horse and given Sean the "TLC" he wanted and so desperately needed, there never would have been...well you know. Anyway, I loved the book, and of course you left it open for another sequel. I CAN'T WAIT! Keep on doing what ya doing.

Summary: I still love me some sean ross
Review: I was elated to find out about chocolate affair, because I fell in love with the characters of chocolate star. Shelia my girl you have done it again, this is really a page turner from beginning to end. The characters were still a trip and in a way Topaz has kinda changed, but I see another book coming because we have some unanswered situations. I was glad to see Keisha character develop and be the rock for the other characters. I was glad to see Topaz and Germain reunited the perfect family so you think. Topaz is still up to her old tricks wanting what she want when she want it and not letting anything come in between her happiness. I hate what happen between Sean and Topaz but in the beginning of the book Jade was really a (....), but let us blame that on the pregnancy and her insecurities. That still doesn't excuse them for what happen, but Topaz thats all I can say. Their are some innocent parties in all of Topaz maddness, I haven't excused Kyle and Nina but you have to appreciated real people, they stepped up to the plate. And just think neither one of them wanted to be married. I will leave some for those who haven't read the book.

Review: If Sheila Copeland's character's or books could be described with two words they'd be "Green Perfection". These people are unrealistically wealthy and perfect. With minor family problems and hidden agendas. All of them are just so irresistable and why doesn't Sheila find another color other than keep mentioning how much Green the main character wears. We get it Sheila...All of your character's are rich, talented and beautiful with little imperfections and minor character flaws. Give me something a little more believeable next time.

Summary: Maybe I should have read Chocolate Star first...
Review: It's an excellent story, but this novel jumps into the life of the characters and I never got to know who they are. Maybe I would feel differently if I had read Chocolate Star first, then everything might have been clear. I read the book in one sitting, so I can attest to the fact that it is a very quick read. I just wish I could have been more involved with the characters, then this would have been a five star piece. If you're looking for something that will just give you a story, this is your book. If you're looking for something more...you might consider reading Chocolate Star first...to give the author a little more credit, I'm going to pick it up and see what she had to say and hopefully everything will become clearer.

Summary: an affair to forget
Review: Maybe I set the bar too high but I cannot understand the hype about A Chocolate Affair. The book seems to be about...what is this book supposed to be about? The back of the book reads like it's a juicy "sister friend" book but the words between leaves much to be desired. I do agree with others who recommend reading Chocolate Star so that one can become familiar with the characters but I cannot say that I would recommend this book at all. There is more name dropping than plot, no kind of character developement and the writing just seems a bit dry. There are times that I found myself rushing through the page in an attempt to get to a better part.
If you are truly in need of boring yourself or just want to see what's next for Topaz and the gang then get a copy from the library.

Summary: Rather empty
Review: Maybe I'm just not feeling it, but I don't understand what all the raves are about. I read Chocolate Star, which wouldn't have been bad if it was written better. The author mercifully cut back on the brand names and food descriptions (or maybe this time she received better editing), but the story line here was very thin. It essentially resolved around setting up The Incident between Topaz and Sean, and then its aftermath, which was a cinch to predict. Apparently, with the cliffhanger ending, the author intends to publish a series a la E. Lynn Harris. I'm glad to see that so many are eagerly awaiting the next installment, but I won't be reading it.
