Summary: It's Not Alex Cross
Review: I am an Alex Cross nut, but I will read anything James Patterson! It was a good book, hey I read to the end, so believe me it was good!

Summary: How dare you require me to give this piece of trash a star
Review: I have never read a Patterson book that I didn't enjoy. I have always looked forward to his next one. Unfortunately, he has taken to co-writing. I was a little put out by the last one, but at least it approached his previous standards. This one is so terrible that Patterson should donate the entire proceeds to his co-author, who, obviously, has no furture in writing and should look elsewhere for his occupation. What could possess Patterson to write such a stupid piece of trash is beyond me.

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: I enjoyed this book, especially being a Long Islander and able to associate with the locations in the book. It was a little jumpy in the beginnning but I had to say I loved the ending and they got what they deserved.

Summary: Fast but forgettable
Review: This was a good book that is hard to put down but when I finshed I was not impressed by it. The ending seems far fetched and the characters one dimensial but their was alot of suspense that kept me turning the pages and finish this book in one day. I have read all of James Pattersons books and feel that this one was not written by him because the writing style seems so different from his other books, I feel Peter De Jonge wrote it and James Patterson probably gave his name just so it would sell, but I don't know. Overall a good book just nothing worth recommending.

Summary: Worthless story, worthless characters, worthless read
Review: This rates as one of the worst books I've read in a while. What showed promise in the first couple chapters as a good whodunit quickly turned into a story that was totally implausible, involving characters I cared nothing about, and that includes the grieving brother of the murder victim. The epilogue could not have been less credible. It didn't help that there were many annoying inaccuracies about the legal system that could have been corrected with minor research. All in all, the only saving grace is that this book was a quick read, with short chapters that one could complete at a stop light. At least I didn't waste that much time. Unfortunately, I did spring for a new hardback. Borrow the book or buy a used copy.

Summary: One Step Up From the Soaps
Review: This book is a page turner but it is so horribly written, with such a contrived plot that it is just one step up from the soap operas. Patterson and DeJonge ought to be ashamed for foisting this off to their readers as literature. It's the last time I'll spend good money buying a hardback from this author. And I'll probably donate this to a senior citizens home, but that almost disrespects the seniors!

Summary: Beach House - Rent It!
Review: I took the audio by Guy Bellows along on a business trip. Very nice voice! But the story -----because it was JP, I listened to it all and it was OK. As a former Long Islander I had a lot of trouble when the main character described the Hamptons, Long Island RR and Ronkonkoma with the accent on the 'koma'. Did I pronounce it incorrectly all those years with the accent on the 'kon'? That kind of 'undid' it for me because I tried so hard to like this book and believe it's strangeness.

JP writes the shortest chapters in history and ends up with a book of about 115 of them. Ya gotta love the guy! He makes you want to read "one more chapter."

Summary: Disapointed
Review: I've been an avid reader of James Patterson since I first read Along Came a Spider several years ago. The Beach House was a real disapointment for me. The story moves too fast and there isn't a lot of real suspense.

Summary: Don't miss this one!
Review: I thought this book was excellent. Interesting characters all with creative personalities, Jack and Mack alone make a good story. Great plot, and the ending is so much fun although intense. Wonderful read.

Summary: Kills a few hours ...
Review: I found the book to be a fast read and the short chapters and rapid descriptions flowed easily enough.I particularly enjoyed the class struggles represented by the characters'conflict underneath the main plot.

That having been said, the characters were all a bit shallow and the twists of the story were a bit obvious. I found the last dozen chapters or so to be completely without credibility. The prospect that a "pirate television signal" could operate over a few days without the police and military resources of this nation having any clue from where it was originating ... preposterous.

Though the author appears to seek to leave the reader with a sense of righteous catharsis, book left me with a sick feeling at the INJUSTICE perpetrated by the protagonists. The mockery of forcing someone to endure an illegal legal proceeding (itself a literal contradiction)did not bring satisfaction.
