Summary: Play the Victim
Review: Don't bother wasting your money in thinking anyone will find answers to the missing records, Travelgate or the other numerous and dubious escapades of the Clinton's. This book is a puff piece about her zillion hairstyles and the already leaked information on Monica and how they never ever did anything wrong. This is pure "play the victim" and totally unbelievable for someone that is supposed to be so smart. Pass on this one!

Summary: Positioning herself for higher office
Review: The predominant impression one is left with after reading this book is that Hillary is, first and foremost, a politician. This book is clearly an effort to position herself as a candidate for president in 2008. Nevertheless, I found this book a revealing look at a fascinating woman. Her discussion of her health care reform debacle is most interesting. I was a little disappointed by the fact that she swept over her husband's infidelities, instead focusing on the right wing conspiracy's exploitation of his personal pecadillos. Overall, a good effort and required reading for those of us who are fascinated by one of the most extraordinary women in public life today.

Summary: ...MORE FROM HILLARY'S SPIN DOCTORS
Review: Living History simply put is Hillary's new high horse. Hillary actually had very little to do with this publication. She and her political strategists figured out how they wanted to spin the troublesome events of her power driven life and hired the best ghost writers to make her sound passionate and likeable. I must admit they succeed and obviously are very good at what they do. Interesting enough to read to see just how they skate in and around the sensitive topics. However in the end its simply too much to take this book as the honest truth...Sorry Hil

Summary: ~Well...it is "history"
Review: No matter your political bent or your personal feelings about Hilary, you gotta give her credit for her determination. The book is well written and explores her personal issues to her political issues, and gives the reader a dim insight to what really makes Hilary tick. Since she was in the spot light for 8 years as First Lady and subsequently as Senator Clinton this is a goold glimpse into a figure that surely make the history books. How much of this book is self serving...time will tell.

Summary: Not what we were looking for.
Review: The book sounds interesting but you can tell the four co-authors did much of the writing which made me wonder how much of the book was in Hillary's own thoughts and words. It plays like a victim over and over and it would be better as a conversation piece than a pity party. If she writes another book lets hope it isnt for political capitalization for women only.

Summary: Another great ethical voice leads by example
Review: We can all learn a lot from the moral and ethical leadership and example of Ms. Clinton.

Hopefully Hillary's political aspirations will be history sooner rather than later.

Summary: Surpassed all expectations - A great & must read!
Review: I read "Living History" with great interest and anticipation! As someone who did not appreciate the ways and means of the Clintons, I must say that I was impressed by what I read in this book. As a New Yorker, I voted against Hillary Clinton - however, if she ever ran again for any office, she will definitely have my vote. Hillary deserves a lot of kudos for going out and publishing this book with revelations about her very intimate matters... I recommend it to everyone - republicans, democrats, linertarians, men and women...

Summary: Well written
Review: As a conservative I have a certain political bias that is diverges from that of Hillary's on several points. I was willing to lay that aside while reading her book. The book is well written but I get the sense that it is a little artificial. I don't really believe readers are getting Hillary's reactions, thoughts, and feelings on certain events that occurred in her life. It's a little too politically correct. I give it a 3-start

Summary: Can I do half a star?
Review: I was up all night with this book. Here's what I learned: nothing. What I knew, I know some more. What I didn't know, I found hard to believe. Everything comes across as calculated, one eye on the polls. Even the fictitious account of Bill breaking the news to her about Monica is an obvious ploy to capture the hearts of both women and men who she'd like to see her as more sympathetic. (If she really didn't know, she was the only person in America who didn't, which makes her a lousy candidate for leader of the free world, and if she did know, that makes her a liar. But hey, Bill's defenders always said, "Hey, everybody lies," so I guess it's no slur.)

I bought it as a gift for a friend. I hope he'll still be speaking to me a week from now when he's done.

Summary: Great history
Review: This is one of two great "living history" book this summer. The other is Bill Lee's The Little Red Sox Book. He also has dreams of being President of the United States.
