Summary: I hated this book...it haunted me
Review: I love James Patterson and the Alex Cross series, and while I knew this book would be nothing like his usual, and I knew it would be a tear-jerker, I was not prepared for the horrid ending. I would recommend NOT reading this book unless you want to be incredibly sad. I was truly haunted by this book and cannot get it out of my mind.

Summary: Phenomonal
Review: I work for a large bookseller and everyone was so eagerly awaiting this novel just to see how James Patterson could crossover from suspense fiction about murder to a love story. I picked up the book and could not put it down. It was unbelievable. Have some kleenex ready because it's a tear jerker. Well done Mr. Patterson!

Summary: Softly Sad but heart rendingly happy
Review: This book touched me so very deeply....I could hardly wait to turn to the next page. There were times I thought I knew what would happen but the direction for the ending totally surprised me.
The short chapters helped me get through it since I'm constantly on the go & it was easy to pick up & get back into it. After I finished it, I went back to breeze back over my favorite parts & now I'm like I'm lost as to what to read next....nothing could fill me & hold my attention like this.
I LOVED Message in a Bottle & this is the same type of love.

Summary: Morgan Vs. George?
Review: I loved Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas. I read it all the way through without putting it down. After reading all of James Patterson's books since Kiss The Girls, I have pictured Morgan Freeman as the hero but this one, was George Clooney or Tom Sellick for sure. Great Book!!!!!

Summary: very moving
Review: An excellent book, straight from the heart.

The only reason why it is not more stars from me, is that it is very very short.

Summary: "Let's appeal to the average American housewife"
Review: While watching an ad for this book on a morning talk show, I was intrigued to see that the writer himself was endorsing the book by reading it to the camera. I was touched. Surely this would have to be an incredible read. I purchased it almost immediately and read the entire book in less than a day. This book is not worth the byline of Tom Patterson. I believe he was writing in a genre he was clearly not comfortable in and, quite frankly, the predictable nature and cliche catch phrases bored me to tears. Perhaps Harlequin Romances would have snatched this up in a minute. I firmly believe that if the author was not well-established the book would be cage liner for an editor's parakeet. Wait for the paperback, or better yet, snag one at a garage sale. Save yourself [the money] - you'll thank me for it.

Summary: A Rich , Heartfelt , and Immensely Satisfying Read!
Review: I've long been a devotee of Patterson's. His books are crisp, well thought out entertainments that deliver time and time again. But as much as I love the Alex Cross series, its his forays into other genres that I enjoy more. As a golfer I tore through "Miracle on the Seventeenth Green" and had to hold back a tear or two at the end. Now, as a father of two, and husband to a woman named Susanne, I can only begin to say how greatly "Susanne's Diary for Nicholas" affected me. To people who say it's sappy or maudlin, I say check yourself for a heartbeat. This book is about real love and the things in life that are truly important. To me it was a wonderful reading experience. How often do you turn the final page and feel goosebumps ripple up and down your neck? Do stop and think that for a second or two, time has stopped around you? Do you smile and say a prayer of thanks just for being alive? Maybe that's what I loved best about the book. It made me feel alive. Hat's off to James Patterson. An erudite and perceptive student of the human condition. (And not a bad poet either!)

Summary: Quick, Excellent Read
Review: Such a sweet, feel good story. I absolutly loved this book! It's the first James Patterson book I've read, so unlike a lot of other reviewers, I didn't expect it to be any other type of story. Don't let the first sentence in my review fool you, there's alot of sad times and maybe even some tears. This author surely went out on a limb and created a story very different from his others and that only proves what a talent he really is.
I loved the way J. Patterson wrote the end of this book. Very intriguing and imaginative.

Do yourself a favor and read this book, but don't expect it to mirror his last one. That's why you need to read this one, because it is different from his norm and it's very, very good.

It's a story about how life can really throw a curve when it's least expected and sometimes we aren't ready to catch that curveball and it will hit the ol' bread basket, knock the wind out of us as well as knock us off our feet. It's a story of healing and resilence. It's a story of real life. This book is worth adding to your collection.

Summary: great book!
Review: This book is James Patterson's first love story, and I hope he writes more of the same. Some may find it a bit slow, but many a times it's sweet and sad and beautiful. It is really a good read, and if you are looking for an exciting, thrilling crime novel, you are going to be disappointed. But if you like a wonderful and moving story, you'll love this one. Give it a try!
